  • This is an issue we have seen with the module installation not having permissions to update Orion's web.config file to be aware of the new module (in this case VoIP). This issue was fixed in an Orion service pack. Do you have the latest Orion service packs installed? You can check this on the customer portal of the…
  • rtdi, There are no issues that we are aware of. Our QA department tests on Windows 7 during every release. Is there a particular issues you are seeing? -- Steve
  • Unfortunately there is a bug that shows up only on leap day. nrms's suggested work around of changing date to 2/28, starting Workspace Studio, then changing date back to 2/29 is correct. This bug will be fixed so that it will not show up again next leap day. See the following for the official thread on this: "> We…
  • rsprim, Here is the process to manually install a plugin. The URLs, GUIDs, etx will be different for each version of Toolset but the process should be the same. I've used the URLs for Toolset 10.6 for this example: Make sure that Workspace Studio is closed down and there are no dettached gadgets still running. First locate…
  • Snoopy1, There will be a section in the Engineer's Toolset help file about the TFTP server. Also, you may want to look at our Config Transfer and Config Compare gadgets in the Engineer's Toolset Workspace Studio or the Config Download and Config Upload classic tools in the Toolset. --HTH Steve
  • Make sure the 'status' that you are using in your condition is the 'Custom Node Pollers\Status' and not the Node\NodeStatus\Status. If that wasn't the problem then a work around is to add an additional condition of 'NodeID = NodeID'. The variable ${CustomPollerStatus.Status} is definately the correct one to use for what…
  • NetworkGuy09, You appear to have a good grasp on what is going on. We use multiple threads to check quickly and we don't linger so that accounts for the changing source ports. -- Steve
  • No. For enumerations all you can do is define a map between the actual value reported from a device and the value you want displayed. In the above scenario you would need to map all possible values. Alternatively you can set the Unit field to indicate that you are showing data in a different unit than expected.
  • I just went through the process from the website. There may have been a link that was temporarily broken. Please try it again. --HTH Steve
  • Ciag, There is no way to adjust the number of data points. We set a maximum of 500. So at 3 second polling that gives you about 25 minutes of history. Data points are not saved. They are in memory while the gauge is running. -- Steve
  • The Engineer's Toolset Realtime Netflow Analyzer supports Netflow v1 & Netflow v5 traffic. You can try a free evaluation version of our Orion Netflow Trafix Analyzer. It supports sFlow. -- Steve
  • FHR-Phil, It depends on what type of traffic you want to see. You may want to check out the NetFlow RealTime tool. If you want to see all traffic between two servers and do any filtering then WireShark would be the best tool. -- Steve

  • You could use IP Network Browser in the Classic Tools -> Cisco Tools group. Enter the devices or subnets you are interested in and discover the System MIB and any other MIBs you are interested in. Then you can print or export jsut the groups you are interested in. --HTH Steve
  • Contact support and they can help you reset your licenses and get new keys. --HTH Steve
  • Xirtic88, Workspace Studio supports CPU polling on Cisco, Windows, NetSNMP, Foundary, Extreme, Rapid City, River Delta, HP ProCurve, and any device that supports the Host Resources MIB. Verify that your Fortinet supports the Host Resources MIB. If it doesn't you can use the SNMP RealTime Graph and enter the OID you want to…
  • The "misconfigured call paths" message appears when you have a manual call path defined with no matching operation in the specified device. Since this is happening periodically is there a chance that your device is cycling every two weeks clearing out the operation?
  • For those modifying the SwToolset.MenuOptions file to customize your Orion/Toolset integration menu the file you will want to edit now is at: <LocalApplicationData>\SolarWinds\ToolsetIntegrationTray\Menu.xmlWhere <LocalApplicationData> = <ProfileFolder>\Local Settings\ Application DataThis is for the current method of…
  • priti, Are you running the free Tftp server as well as Toolset's Tftp Server? The current version of Toolset is 10.7. If you are running the latest version of Toolset you should uninstall the free Tftp server service and use the one in Toolset. -- Steve
  • martinpugh, Is this an issue you are having with the NPM tool inside of Toolset or the Orion NPM product? Your use of the word "page" leads me to believe that you might have better luck asking this question in the Orion NPM forum. --HTH Steve
  • Which of the Syslog Servers are you using? Toolset, Kiwi, Orion, etc?
  • chaitu, Contact customer support for licensing issues. Let them know what the error message is. They should be able to help you. -- Steve

  • Have you verified that the router is actually echoing tcp by testing it manually? Is there any kind of firewall that might be between the device hosting WAN Killer and the router? --HTH Steve

  • The latest version is 10.8.1.19. Can you try downloading the free TFTP server from the website again and seeing if that fixes your problem? We fixed a bug that sounds like the one you have between build 17 and 19. --HTH Steve
  • mggst6, Most likely installing the update enabled RDP 8.0 in group policy settings. Now that you removed the update you will likely have to disable RDP 8.0 in group policy settings. Disable this setting: Computer Configuration-> Administrative Templates-> Windows Components-> Remote Desktop Services-> Remote Desktop…
  • Look in your Toolset installation folder. The default location is C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Toolset. There should be a zip file named Syslog-Server.Hotfix.zip. Read the ReadMe.txt file and follow its directions to implement the hot fix. For those following this thread the issue was introduced because of a Microsoft…
  • What version of the Toolset are you using? Make sure that you are using the newer version of the WAN Killer in Workspace Studio tool. You might try to increase the packet size as this will be less taxing on your system and will allow it to better keep up with the transmission calculations. --HTH Steve
  • Walidd, Can you describe the steps you took that led to the error? -- Steve
  • Rangaraj, There is no evaluation version for the Standard Toolset. It is just a reduced version of our Engineers Toolset. If you want to evaluate then uninstall the standard version and install the Engineer's version. It will let you either enter a license at the end of install or go into evaluation mode. --HTH Steve
