Thanks Mav, I just glad it's over, took way too long. And yes, I sure this helps others in this position One other note: The capturing of traffic on the layer 3 (Virtual) interfaces on the 4507 is not supported from Cisco with Flexible Netflow. I have asked them to put in a request for enhancement because all or almost all…

Well the logic doesn't look right, but I tried it anyway, and it did not work; I got an alarm for a production time outage when I added your line and it should have been surpressed with a node name containing ABC. As another approach, can I use wildcards for characters; the names are xxABCxx so could I use name not equal…

OK so we are making headway, it appears both Cisco and Solarwinds are taking this seriously and working together on this. <- I won't tell you what it took to get here Anyway, we are getting closer, I spoke to Cisco today as we need to get the layer 3 interfaces included in the flow monitoring. When I enter the commands to…

Funny, Cisco called and emailed me as soon as I got this email too. Here is the configuration I have, and I am now seeing flows; a lot more testing is still required but I have pretty graphs: flow record ipv4 ! match ipv4 tos match ipv4 protocol match ipv4 source address match ipv4 destination address match transport…

Mav, no offence but I'm on my second Solarwinds ticket now, I have been working with Cisco for over a month on this so I am not too inclined to be helpful. I would suggest taking this up with Cisco's Netflow team and working through it; if you wish I can provide you my TAC case and you can escalate with their Engineers.…

The logic to that does not make sense; how can you trigger an alert when none of the conditions are met that is contained within a condition when all of the conditions must be met? Solarwinds can you chime in here?

Colin, thanks for the answer. I had the same problem wherein the firewall would give an "Internal Error 000". I set NCM to "enable" rather than "enable 15", and chose SSH2 only for all methods, and boom it worked. Thanks guys

I'll try, There are 4 Advanced alarms that all work in conjunction; 1 - Network gear 24x7 down/up 2 - All servers except for certain ones 8 - 22:00 3 - Certain servers 22:00 - 8 4 - Certain servers 24 x7 that have been down longer than 7 minutes All have different notifications and groupings Number 1 - given, number 2…

When you say Release do you mean Deactive through License Manager? I need to do the same thing. What about the other modules, do I need to worry about them or only NPM? Cheers

Final Update before patch - Bug Yes Engineering got back to me and as some have stated it's the way the processes on the server are checked to see how much memory they use, then tallied and checked against free physical and virtual which results in 100% (or more) used. They said it will be patch in the next SP or revision,…

Hi, Can you elaborate more I have the same issue, but I am not sure what you are saying in your solution? I am using Advanced Alerts, Production Hours and Outside Production. OK I see what you are saying now, my problem is that I have different monitoring during primetime that after hours; I don't care about certain…

UPDATE: Cisco got back to me verifying in their lab that the 4507 is indeed sending flows but the Solarwinds Netflow is no accepting/displaying them. Cisco is basically stating that because the device is sending this is a Solarwinds issue. I had a case opened in the past with Solarwinds and they state that the flow must…

Yes it did but you still need to click each one and add the SNMP string in order to add them, wuite a long process. Bob

I am please it's working for you guys. In my case this is a very small implementation (@ 250 nodes) and as someone who has built 9 Orion implementation for customers, this is by far the most painfull. I will open another ticket to see if another Engineer can make this even usable. I am also hoping Solarwinds will bring…

UPDATE: I checking the servers it appears that we do have some Domain Controllers that are repoting correct memory usage, but only 1 or 2 out of 30ish. As well there is one 2003 regular server showing the issue, so I'm not sure we have isolated it too much. I also found the disk space utilized numbers were incorrect as…
-
UPDATE: I have added another 20 servers and all of them exhibit the same issue. I did figure out it's only Windows 2003 Domain Controllers that have this issue; Windows 2003 Servers show just fine. I have asked for support from SW, but as this is an evaluation before buying I'm not sure if I'll get it. Anyone?

Same problems, along with everything else being slow. I am opening yet another ticket.

The config just above is the one that works. If you have issues post here and I'll see what I can help with

Wow 2 years (and I'm sure more) of people requesting this and it's still not in the product? What's it going to take>? I am helping one of our clients evaluate NMS' and I have to say Orion falls down big time on both reporting and PDF's, ether in scheduled reports or stats/graphs. All the other tools we are looking at have…

I would suggest also creating a maintenance window that can be applied to groups or devices that allows a regular unmanage/manage for weekly or monthly patching/maintenance

So this was 14 Months ago is it availabe now? I am getting the errors in version 10 so I assume it is not supported yet.... It strikes me a funny that you request people to sign-up to see if there is interest in this feature when the No.1 Internetworking manufacturer has already made the commitment to move to Flexible…

That is one way to do it, sadly this is a advanced rule that has many other components to it, and the parameter used is ALL of the following. Keep them coming...

I just checked one of our Domino Servers and it reports the Memory correctly, both in the gauge and the disk volumes. It appears to only be 2003 Domain Controllers in my 10 SP 1 install.

Windows 2003 servers....

Has anyone tried using SNMP Traps; the device will trap on a tunnel going down, and you could use the trap viewer to generate and email based on the trap. This is what I am trying now, just wanted to share. Update: Here are the Trap variables; I can't figure out how to tell which tunnel, but a tunnel stop message will at…

Yes me too; I've created Custome reports based on PCI and I would at a minimum like to see my report as the default. It should be easy enough just to give me the option of which report to display on the home page...no? Thanks, Bob James
-
No it only supports Flexible Netflow, and this is the direction Cisco is heading.
-
I too have a concern on this, wherein I add a ping only device, and it shows up as unknown; how do I exclude if from map calculations as the map has a grey icon because it has an unknown node on it? Strange

Globally dispersed Otherwise I would do a Netsonor Bob
