I don't think JMX is required for NTA,NPM. SAM uses JMX for monitoring for Agentless and Windows polling: Use the JMX Bridge Service Linux polling: Run JMX queries locally through the SolarWinds Platform agent itself

I am not sure about the serial number but other data you can pull it using custom report from SolarWinds.
