Thanks for your reply. We are planning to enable ICMP on the Bayshore device and then try adding the device to Solarwinds. Think this should work this time, if ICMP was at all the issue. May need your help further incase this does not work. Thanks again for your help.

Thanks Ishikawa.... As you have exactly pointed it out the device is configured not to reply to ICMP (Ping packets). And I did try to add the device by removing the entry "SolarWinds Orion Network Performance Monitor Engine Version 8.1.3" but to no avail. Is it possilbe to configure Orion not to send those ping packets…

Hi byrona, Thanks for your super immediate reply. Can you give a example of the best ways to set volume (disk space alerts) for Windows and Linux servers. I have tried....but not have been very successful.....bcoz we are monitoring lots of Windows and Linux servers. Hence had to go with Basic alerts. Shailesh

Yes....I was using the wrong OID. Now changed to the correct one and looks all good. Can you let me know how the alerts have been configured for the load average values at your end. Thanks for your help. Shailesh

Hi Bryon, Installed net-snmp. Anything specifc that should be configured under the snmpd.conf file? Also, what has to be done from Solarwinds server or web console..I mean how to add an UnDP to monitor these load averages? Thanks

The difference that I was able to make out was that in the first scenario i.e Solarwind Engineers Toolset-Bayshore Device... the source port was 3851…

Can this be done for Basic alerts. I have set basic alerts for Volume percent used and need to trigger repeat alerts every 6 hours till the alert is cleared.

Yes, I did reboot the Solarwinds server and after the reboot all the chart and process monitor was back to normal. This stats collection was stopped earlier this month. Thanks for your suggestions.
