I have upgraded two installations already. Not a single bump. It was very smooth. Both took about 30-45 min. Both from 2020.2.1 HF2 to 2020.2.4

96% certain agents use IP to contact Orion, not DNS name. There is a config-file at the client that state the orion server address.
-
Patch Manager is NOT affected: https://www.solarwinds.com/securityadvisory - just updated
-
I THINK that if you use an extra polling engine like the Orion Remote Collector AND Agents on all monitored nodes in the second environment it should work. Haven't done it but I believe it should work.
-
Hi Yes, uninstall the modules then run config wizard is the path to take.

If you are at Orion 2019.4 Hotfix 3 you are safe. "Known affected products: Orion Platform versions 2019.4 HF 5 and 2020.2 with no hotfix or with 2020.2 HF 1,"

Import OID's? Do you mean Universal Device Pollers, UnDP? In that case there is an import/export function in that tool. On the file-menu. (in the tool on the orion server desktop) Or do you mean the MIB-database? Just upgrade the MIB-database to the latest one, any new OID's are in there. You can find it under…

Very good! Going to orions AdvancedConfiguration web page, filtering on url shows some more urls for this list. Like AppOptics, specific urls to HP, lenovo and dell, azure api etc.

Looking at "C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\SolarWinds.Orion.Core.BusinessLayer.dll", version "2020.2.15300.12766" is Orion 2020.2.1 HF1

I think that update is removed, can't see it anymore.

It would be nice to be able to also get custom properties on the virtual servers in the report. That way we can easy split the cost on different systems/owners/customers.

If you can't get the data you want from SNMP you probably should use SAM and a script running on the AIX, then you could probably get anything you want. Here is an example: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/SAM-Documents/AIX-Custom-Monitoring-for-CPU-Memory-and-Disk-Perl-Script/ta-p/526147

Hi Kevin I will assume you are using SQL Availability Groups as you are saying the SQL servers are in a synchronous cluster. First, I would never set up a synchronous Availability Group,AG, with less than 1 GB low latency link between them. You will loose to much performance there. Maybe set them up in asynchrounus mode,…

No it shouldn't be, it does not contain the affected file. It's an Orion Core file that is affected.

Windows Defender from 2020-12-12 seem to protects from this threat: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/threats/malware-encyclopedia-description?Name=Behavior:Win32/Solorigate.C!dha&ThreatID=2147771132

If you runt the offline installer on the main server, and pre-stage the files from there. Then you can start the web-based upgrade from the AWS (additional web server). Also, when it is running the upgrade, the web-gui is connected to the administration service on the current server and not the IIS. The administration…

Hi You are right, half the nodes should have an alert on them if it would work. I would take out the SWQL from the alert and test it on SWQL-studio. Press the little arrow to the left on the yellow bar and press "show swql".
-
Hi In NCM you can see all the info you want. There is prebuilt reports like "Current IOS Image and Version" and "Vulnerabilities for each node" that you can start with and schedule if requested. That is a start for you, good luck.

Hi No Japanse but you can get it in Swedish * Create a template in SAM * Add a "Windows Event log monitor" component * Edit the component an change:* Match Definition = Custom * Event ID = Match only specific IDs * Enter the ID you want to match Se below picture as well. Hope it helps!
-
Hi Yes I would say a "tag" is a custom property. For SAM Templates there is something called tags but not for nodes.

If one Additional Polling Engine, APE, goes down and is monitored by another APE you can get info about that and alert about it. If it is polling itself and dies, it will not tell you.... BUT you can (should) also create an alert that if a APE is not delivering data, not polling, there should be an alert. So you can do it…

Strange! Do you have core HF2 file in c:\program data\solarwinds\installer? Can you run just that one manually from there?
-
Hehe, probably! Windows 2012? WMI is ... not stable ... there. Restart that service on the monitored server.
-
If you have 2020.2 you must first upgrade to 2020.2.1 before you can apply "HF2 for 2020.2.1"

Great! Need betatesters? CALL ME! ;-)

Thanks, it works. I have changed tooltips for map-popups. Is there a similar way to change the other popup for ex node list and problem lists etc ?
-
"What we have focused our efforts on instead is a complete re-write of Map Maker. " Wonderful! Best news today. When will we see it? The old one is a constant pain. Looking forward to that. /Seashore

Hi all Is there a way to get your "Custom Properties" as variables to have the values show up on Popup tooltips? I guess not but it would be nice to have them both here and in alerts. (Feature request!! ) /Thomas

Hi I upgraded to v10 RC and then got this error: Wireless device was not found in database! No users or AP shows up in "Wireless-tab" I have tried deleting the controller and re-add it but with the same result. We have a Cisco 4402 Idéas?

I have the same issue but with 11.5 and 6.2. Group status is not updated in GUI but alerts on the group status works. Group status also work on primary orion server but not on the additional web server Case #799791
