We have experienced a very similar issue recently in that the centralised installer fails early on in the upgrade and were advised that it was related to the architectural changes from the two versions. Hence why the offline installer is able to cope with the changes.

Thank you for your help @monitoringlife , I don't suppose you know whether ILO/RILO requires setting up on the servers in order for SW to collect the Hardware Metrics?
