Honestly, the answer is it depends. A simple rule of thumb - if most of your monitored devices are on-prem, deploy SolarWinds on-prem but if you are monitoring cloud infrastructure, deploy SW on the cloud. Be mindful of cloud charges though - they will charge you for almost everything - Compute instances, Database…

Thanks for sharing. Any hints on the tentative timelines for the 2023.3 release (Hope it is a stable release). @"abdhijasharma" @"sagar.b" @"Shravya29" @"99kushal" @"mtr"

Though the post is quite old, i would need some inputs on the same. Is DPA capable of showing "ALL" DML events - Insert / Update / Delete. Has some already created a query that can run on the DPA database repository to showcase the DML events? @"venky.raman" @"jameel.monsoor" @"99kushal" @"sagar.b" @"abdhijasharma"

Hi, Yes, the column markers have disappeared after the upgrade. Have opened a support ticket. @"nafeeskhan29" @"abdhijasharma" pls share the ticket number

Hi, Did you get this NetFlow working?

Is the GCP agent-less support going to be available in the upcoming releases?
-
@"KMSigma.SWI" Can you suggest something for this issue?

This is a much desired feature. A systems Configuration tool should have the ability to check for CIS checks and possibly import the CIS checks as a baseline and allow custom selection/modification of checks.

Is the FortiAP product line now supported? Also may want to create the Wireless Heat maps for the FortiAP 431, 421 and others

Thanks jm_sysadmin, GSLB maybe a good idea to take away the manual pain of managing Alias DNS entries.

Have seen a competitor (most likely ManageEngine) where they can snap all their objects to the grid.

Hi David, Unfortunately, we were not able to grab the diagnostics from the system or even the log files. regards

Hi jemertz Maybe I sound like a novice, but can you share the steps you undertook to truncate some of the tables ? The bigger challenge is knowing which tables to truncate. Also, not sure if I understood this part "Customer Service stating that this has successfully resolved the issue for others" - do you mean truncating…

Thanks Krishna - we will surely try this out

A polling engine can typically handle 10,000 monitored elements (elements will be a combination of nodes, interfaces, VLAN's etc). I guess NPM is expected to get a bump up on this 10,000 number in the next edition. One straightforward strategy to use is 3000 devices cater to lets say 20,000 users - which directly means…

Yes aLTeReGo We do have cases opened for the issues faced 1. 00145840 - Solarwinds server down 2. 00156662 - Polling Server down 3. 00143315 - SWIS services not responding (hang state/down) 4. 00156141 - Upgrade fails with a DB Configuration error gangadhar.k c_sameer abdhijasharma

We did apply HF4 to our Main Poller and 3 other APE's. They did go through smoothly, however one APE simply crashed and with no signs of recovery. Still attempting to get it running.

Hi, Does a Kiwi Syslog Server Site License permit a customer to install 25 instances in any location in their network. For exmple, if the customer has 2 Data Centers in different cities, can we install a few Kiwi Syslog servers in DC1 and a few in DC2 - the sum total not exceeding 25 licenses? Thanks

Hi Chris, Thanks for your response. The LB here terminates the TCP session hence NetPath shows the VIP as the end of path. We are also observing some strange behavior on this NetPath service. Sometimes a very high latency number appears between the Load Balancer and the VIP. How could we identify the cause of the high…

Hi Peter, Could you please update if this is fixed in the latest 12.4.1? We have a critical customer who is in desperate need to fix this issue. regards Ravi chinmaychavan csameer gangadhar.k

Thanks bogdan.stan@xpo.com Appreciate your inputs. Working with Solarwinds Support too. They have suggested an upgrade to 2018.4. Post the upgrade we shall also implement your suggestions. gangadhar.k csameer

Thanks David, we do have an additional web server but we use that in conjunction with the main platform web server too. We read somewhere that 1 Additional web server can cater to only about 20 users that is far too less. Does this mean that we need 5 web servers to handle 100 users? What if, each user has multiple tabs…

What about the Syslog Server ? Kiwi Syslog Server to be precise. Will a Syslog server consume multiple Licenses of LEM ? Thanks for your answer earlier
-
.Net versions on the Main Poller & APE's are the same 4.6.2
-
Thanks for your inputs, will check the .Net versions definitely. Our logs are set to Debug mode .. Support has been provided with the logs too. Is it really necessary to have the whois.arin.net and stat.ripe.net sites opened out to the Main poller for port 43 (BGP) & 443 ?

Though the basic data is good enough for most of us, it may just help to keep in mind that Licensing of Orion NPM elements is the "Highest" count of Node/Interfaces/Volumes whereas here the Table shows the "Total" of Nodes/Interfaces/Volumes. The Total is also used to calculate the percentage load on the poller, example if…

Very pertinent ask in these times. Organizations have so many people working from home and a dashboard of SSL connection details will add immense value. Calling all Checkpoint experts for their inputs.
