More details on the Cisco changes - The RFC2932 RFC 2932 - IPv4 Multicast Routing MIB for IPv4 Multicast Routing MIB is now obsolete. The newer devices like the Cisco Nexus family support the latest RFC5132 RFC 5132 - IP Multicast MIB for IP Multicast MIB. In our Multicast Monitoring Views, depending on whether we have…

Using NCM functions - backups, restoring configs, creating custom templates (Autoneg settings, Netflow config, SNMP configs - community, traps etc) has simplified our network MANAGEMENT piece and thereby allows me to use the extended daylight hours to pursue my personal non-IT goals.

Thank you for the upgrade inputs .. will test out the 12 on a test bed before moving to production

How I wish Solarwinds maybe created a Dashboards and Report creator

A very practical ask .. surely a must-have for scalability

The Orion platform must support a user audit - * how many users logged on to the Orion platform (irrespective of whether they use Network modules like NPM, NTA etc, System modules like SAM, SRM etc or both) * who logged on from what IP address * what time did they logon / logoff * what privileges do these users have on the…

Excellent article .. Had a manager who used to sum up the gist of the article as "TRIPLE E" - EDUCATION, EXPOSURE & EXPERIENCE. You may get the knowledge via some education or learning program, but if you are not exposed to situations that warrant usage of the learning, you will never experience the results

Similar ask .. https://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/8964#comment-278470

Took the survey yesterday

Very strong case to consider - not just the discovery process, credentials too .. Bridging the gap will bring about the following - * Reduction in network traffic caused by polling, rediscovery * Reduction in DB tables (size and thereby IOPS requirements) * Overall Performance improvements

Would be brilliant to have a scroll through NetPath !!

Posted my review too .. Cheers !! karlap

I think the NCM job does only one device firmware upgrade at a time. Imagine a situation when large setups need to upgrade devices to fix vulnerabilities, it may take ages to cover the firmware upgrades of 10000 devices, if each is going to take about an hour Is this Bulk Upgrade feature planned in the next release ?…

6 years since the idea was first mooted. Surprisingly, no movement except for the upward movement of votes and the downward movement of confidence. Please SW, the community deserves better response.

Updated the latest MIB database, but still see the Checkpoint Virtual Firewall Appliance R77 as a "net-snmp" device. The OID value of sysObjectID is not under /etc/snmp folder in snmpd.conf file. (as is stated in the man pages of net-snmp daemon). It is in /opt/CPsuite-R77/fw1/conf (system.sysObjectID.0 :value…

Should be a good session to attend. Though it maybe difficult to generalize what CIO's want Meaningful Dashboards for Executives There have been many threads on thwack that have raised this point. So should be a good starting point.

Has anyone successfully tested out the Solarwinds platform users being authenticated by the password vault - CyberArk? Your urgent responses appreciated. Aware that Orion 2018.4 upwards we do have SAML v2.0 support and same is true for CyberArk. But any customer success story, will bring in the confidence

An eventful year with Thwack !! A lot of projects and products done .. and thanks to the entire community for the year long support, great inputs and advice received for a lot many things. The Labs, Missions, Polls, Surveys, Beta programs, new launches (Big one in NPM) were all very exciting !! Grateful to all the…

Same issue - VMAN and NCM are not listed. Not sure if VIM 7 is VMAN .. i think that is the error in the options provided

A logical feature request .. many a times the approver would need to ask for additional justification for the Request. A simple "Request more info" option instead of just Approved or Denied could be of immense help. This would simplify the entire process.

Would be an extremely useful feature for customers having to store data from a compliance perspective

Hi, Any update for all Thwackians on when to expect an shiny new Atlas
-
Similar to our case, where we have over 10,000 interfaces on NPM (yes we also use Additional Polling Engines). But our Netflow sources are limited .. less than 20 devices or about 150 interfaces.

This is now overdue. Solarwinds is without any doubt a benchmark in itself for "Monitoring" .. next level is a "View from the Top" Also see

SNMP Trap based alerts with a Poll based condition can be a fantastic combination. This would make an ideal combo.

Even the Group Availability and member Availability calculations are going haywire. Group shows 100% availability while members do not have the same availability percentages. The worst is when there is 1 member in the Group, we still see differing availability percentages.

Palo Alto Insight is now required by many a customer. Specially, with the creation of Virtual instances of Firewalls on Palo Alto monitoring is becoming a challenge. Individual VFW now have to be monitored with CPU, Mem consumption to be monitored individually. This will be the most basic requirement. Advanced monitoring…
