Day 20 is a busy morning for MVP's. RT

rschroeder, Let me start by saying I have never done this but I have studied it. So it is not the be all end all. Also, some loads will make serverless very expensive. As with everything, choose the right tool for the job. Let us say you need an app that is a web form people login into and fill out and leave. Traditional…

In a VMWare environment there are some basic terms. Hosts - Systems that run software like HyperV and ESX that have the infrastructure to run Virtual Machines. Virtual Machines - Systems running on the Hosts in a virtual environment. Cluster - A group of Hosts running with shared resources. So today's question might be…

Back to topic, I really liked using my iPaq H5550. It was the first device I ever had with a fingerprint reader that actually worked. It was fun for Wifi heat maps and finding open Wifi access points.

IT Pro's are the first people called when teachers, firefighters, and healthcare workers can get the computer, program or website working. The first responder for first responders, IT Professionals! Paul

@"smttysmth02gt" Nice set of Charvel and Jackson guitars! Those guitars have really fast necks. What amps do you use? Are those Schaller S-Locks Security Strap Locks. I am a huge fan and have them on almost all of my guitars. I hate dunlop locks...you can never tell if they are locked. That is why a large chunk of finish…

Years ago the C-Level execs wanted no downtime. We would always build battleship systems without regarding recovery or maintenance efforts. These systems were and some still are complex. Frankly C-I-E-I-O (see eye e eye o) did not care how hard we worked. Now that those people have moved on, the system admins are making…

If you make sure the past week of mission questions are complete Sunday night before bed, you might be an MVP! Good night one and all. RT

Some Handy Talkies are under $50. Take a new look at the old hobby/service. RT

After a brief search of Google I have found nothing about this cable. RT

Congratulations! I have had mine for about 16 months. CPE's are fun and educational...but only when documented. RT Having a CISSP is like paying $85 a year until you die...so you never have to take that test again.

I was not familiar with Radia Joy Perlman's work. What another great contributor to the art of computing. RT

Pets just make you feel better!

In December, we bumped all of the SW Orion systems to new VM's with 2012 R2. RT P.S. After a long night of building systems, I would stroll through the data center just to smell the new VM's.

Nice. That is the visual I had in mind when I posted.

I heard great things about the SB-600. I waited along time to buy a DSLR. Next I am going to buy some prime lenses like the AF-S 35mm f/1.8G and the AF-S 50mm f/1.4G and the AF-S 85mm f/1.8G. Finally in a few years I will get a FX body of some type. I have never been a big fan of Zoom lenses. RT

Show Me the Mechanical Keyboard!!! Good luck to all! RT Quote of the day, "Unlike most meetings, we actually have answers for this one....and your going to like them"

I have always felt that no computer should have unrestricted access to the Internet. Every system should have defined destinations and ports. End users must authenticate to the firewall for access the Internet and only be granted access for a short time. RT

I am wondering what others do to improve security. For me, it is scanning, monitoring and patching. RT P.S. Living the security triangle dream.

How far that technology has come is amazing. I remember building a Heathkit Digital Depth Sounder that uses Nixie tubes. I still have it and its transponder. It is hard to part with something you built with your father when you were in Middle School. RT Not my picture below....but I am at work.

In the question 13 Hint: What, says Yoda? RT

I like that fact that everyone is getting better at spotting question issues. That is the type critical thinking that elevates your skills. Rock on!! RT

I can never settle on a favorite band so I wanted to pick someone unique. Some might remember that his singing did make heads explode in Mars Attacks! RIP

I you think that Cisco Tetration is expensive, look at the price of Vmware NSX. RT
