I dont think 9.5.1 even supports Win2008 R2, so I would guess that you would need at least Orion v10 for Win7. Supported are only Windows Servers (as listed in the requirements)
-
no, you will need to edit the AD group or user (in "Manage Accounts" under settings) and set the report folder to \Reports
-
We used a normal user account in the very beginning but we were told by support that everything but full administrative rights is not supported. It should work fine for most things though. Maybe you can try it by creating the user in the credentials library and just test some of your most critical and complicated…

which chart is wrong? the one where it shows which data is being pulled via SNMP or API? And on clean ESX installs I thought its normal that they show up as net-snmp until you edit the snmp-config on the server to publish the mibs...

in the new 10.1 NPM version there is a new feature, the grouping feature. you can add nodes, etc. to groups and treat the groups like a separate entity or for alert suppressions.
-
just as a side note, if you upgrade to a recent IOS with crypto and you create an rsa key, you will most likely be able to use SFTP and SSH...
-
any news on this?!?
-
that depends on your firewall rules or ACLs. but good point... never noticed that you cant SNMP a device if you disallow ping... but usually if I want to monitor it with SNMP I also want to know if its up or down so I allow ICMP as well

VIP= Virtual IP (the IP to access the cluster via load balancing)
-
yea, i have set an alert for each escalation level as well... is there a way to only display certain alerts (only the original, not the escalated ones as well) in the "alerts" webpage?
-
>No; it's not a burning issue, so I thought I would pick the communal brain here first. I'll give them a call now. :) hehe, that means you either think very highly of this community or badly of the support ;-) anyway, let us know what the outcome of this is please =)

Thats exactly what you can do with those OIDs, no? Just check on the OID's, like .4.6 on the IP of your failover address, if this shows Standby Unit then you know a failover has happened! I think thats much easier than tracking increasing traffic and will not create false positives... :P

correct
-
that is correct :)
-
you can try but i dont think thats the problem... make sure you use credentials that you use for logging into vcenter and that the account has all necessary permissions.
-
mhhh... I posted a report here as well, wonder what happened to that post... anyhow, here is a report you could use as well... this works for BRI interfaces as well and should work on all cisco platforms that can be used as voicegateways. you just need to create a undp which is mentioned in the above link.
-
my last update from last friday was that they are still looking into it... :-\
-
would be interested in this as well, though this would have very low priority to us (nice to have but have not been requested to deliver this so far, fixing existing bugs would be of higher priority for us) :P
-
isnt it possible for your dbadmin to give temporary full rights? Thats what we did... we gave the account full rights to create a db and after that limited it to dbowner and full access to only the orion databases (NPM+NCM)
-
Is the RC near public release yet?
-
yup, I have the same problem... if i wait long enough it eventually shows me the interfaces but gives me an error if I try to submit... Will try other browsers (using firefox for myself cause I had troubles with IE+Orion in the beginning)
-
i doubt its a virus/trojan and its not a DC. Virus scanner is installed and nothing but Solarwinds products have ever been installed on the server, internet security is on high and nobody surfs on that computer.
-
As noone seems to share this, I have uploaded a template that can be adjusted but might be a good point to start :) Additions are welcome:
-
Well, I did... didnt I? :P
-
yea, I've made that feature request as well to add bars, formatting, etc. to reports so you can make your custom reports look exactly like the ones orion provides... if they would do that, graphs and fix the issue of advanced sql reports not being able to be filtered in the resource/view settings would make this perfect...…
-
go to the actual service (under services), open the SNMP service (not run) and there will be a tab with settings, make sure you add your orion server as one of the hosts allowed to connect via SNMP
-
Hi Chris, but at least when we bought the product (not yet a year ago) we were told that we can run Orion (not the database) on a VMWare server and while the product would still be supported, if support team has a suspicion that it might be a vmware problem, we would not get any support. now, from what I have experienced…

if you dont want to click through 19k interfaces and you dont have that many trunks you can also just mark all of the interfaces at once and set them to be unpluggable. you can then uncheck the box for your trunk links... thats the way I did it :) EDIT: @rgward: yes, the interface is polled just like all other interfaces,…

Hi ajurado, I think you can already do what you requested with the report writer. We use it to report on recent changes done within IPAM bye IPAM admins, new discoveries by IPAM, listings of IPs per location, etc. etc. Within the Report writer there are three different types of IPAM reports available. Take a look and…

your welcome :) remember not to use the Alert Suppression ;-)
