That fixed it. Thanks so much! I guess it might be a "feature" but I find it odd that nodes applied to certain APM templates do not get their APM name changed when you change the template name. Looks like you have to go back into each node individually and rename it to match the template name. I found out the hard way that…

thanks!

Hi did. you ever figure out this issue? We are seeing it to but are demoing product so no tech support.
-
Hi Byron, It's hard to tell as we're still in the trial. We're approaching 1 GB after about 30 days. We don't have the resources for your setup, but it looks great.
-
I'm assuming some form of basic. they say "interface status" and there are others under the "advanced alerts" category. How do you get these to stop showing up then? We don't want any alerts to show that we've dealt with.
-
What do you mean create a view? That's too bad about creating custom tabs. Seems like a great feature. Everything else is pretty dynamic. Side question: anyone know of a timeline to make the graphs more Web 2.0-ish? Meaning things like dragging timeline to zoom in on, showing actual data when hovering over a graph point,…

Thanks. But if it's going to be complete I would hope it would include people restarting services so that we don't have to be jumping through the windows event log at the same time. Although having it in the event log has it's benefits. Thanks Brandon.

I thought there was some 64bit enabling checkbox somewhere. And is this via snmp or wmi or both?
-
Thanks. I need to track memory utilization. I'll have to find some time to learn this stuff. Thanks anyway.

hi. unfortunately I'm a windows guy with no experience doing what you're suggesting. if you come up with something that'd be great to know. thanks!
-
thanks. is there any way for customers to get status updates for a feature request?
-
Thanks everyone. Have to run, but I'll see if I can do this. Anyone know if this PrimaryContact field (or whatever it is called can have comma or semicolon delimited emails (with or without spaces)?
-
thank you.

That's helpful for the reset action and I can even export to reuse on another alert action which is great. I guess what I'm referring to is that there are probably pretty typical email contents that exist for every organization based on what you're monitoring (disk space for example, or node status, etc). Would be helpful…

Thanks. Just 10 minutes ago I had to log into servers unavailable via WMI and had to count each instance of the event log errors. This would save us a ton of time as we use the presence of the alerts in daily reports and alert messages.

Hello, Do you know how to make the chart/data on the NPM site show it in days, hours, minutes instead of 1/100th of a second? I presume also there's some way to do that in a report. Thanks!
-
Not sure I know what you mean. We start a service for our application and it in turn starts 12 instances of this process.
-
I assume so, but do you mean "Display interface as unplugged rather than down"? And what will the status change to if plugged in yet marked as unplugged? That marking seems like something that would stay the same no matter what because I did that, it was not automated. Maybe I'm wrong.

FYI - I'm in the new version and I don't see this fixed.
-
Also, which type of resource are you referring to?

The graph below is one example for us. The blue line seems to be just a line connecting the points. And if it is the average, it is very hard to read what it is. I'm more looking for something that says: "you chose from 9am to 10am, every 5 minutes and that means 12 entries and the average value over that time is X" (not…

can it monitor NIC bandwidth usage (receive, transmit), errors, discards, current connections, uptime, etc?

That post is a feature request, so that Solarwinds will do the heavy lifting that I think should be de-facto. This new post is a request for help at my attempt to not wait until the feature is implemented. I see posts about this issue for a while now and I don't see anyone mentioning it will be fixed. So I voiced my…

My understanding is that RAID10 has better performance than RAID5 and only needs minimum 4 drives. The part I don't know about is if 575 to 600 GB of space is enough with 4x300GB drives. We've been running since November with the trial and now live on a test server and our database is around 4GB in size. The concern I had…

Also take a look at this thread. I was involved with it and I provided the query for when your working our span midnight (like 5pm to 8am). Unfortunately you have to use an Advanced SQL query. The part that does this isn't hard, but there are some limitations with A.S. report as far as filtering them in views in Orion.

Hello, do you know if this has been fixed in any of the APM releases since this post? Thanks. I'm still on APM 4.0.2 SP3
-
thanks. It's kind of weird because that ID is in the select statement and if you type in the url manually with the id for a given node it works fine. it's almost like come time for the email it loses track of the id and then just picks one seemingly randomly.

Thanks. So maybe I'm using it the wrong way. I was led to believe I could use it to determine how many times an event is in the log each day and which polling cycle it was found in. To me, it's only "up" if it was not found in the last polling cycle. And it's down as long as each time it's polled it found one since the…
