I was using Lean and Green abut I'm not sure what I'll use now.

You could change the IP address via the database until SolarWinds fixes the bug (I have not confirmed the bug - I do not run Cirrus).
-
I agree, it shouldn't be a big deal to add nodes via a terminal session but it also shouldn't be a big deal to make this available through the web interface.
-
I'm not sure if you have Orion but I'm working on a resource that'll map MAC to IP addresses. It's currently working (tested) with Dell PowerConnect 3324's, 3348's , 3424's , 3448's, 6024's and 6024F's switches..

The Custom MIB Poller.

I've never had any luck with Orion monitoring Linux; or course that was with version 8.02. Last I knew you needed 1 specific version of snmpd running that would work with Orion. I don't think any other versions were working.
-
Glad I could help.

Set up a constant ping to something like google.com and when you have the problem see if you lose network connectivity. The other thing I would try is running the configuration wizard again and skip to the services section. Uninstall/reinstall the services and see if that fixes the problem.
-
That's odd....would it be a problem if I had a beta version previously installed and forgot to uninstall it?
-
This is supposed to filter out messages with 'Printer' in them?

I'm going to start working on a resource that'll work with Cisco and Dell switches.
-
I'm testing it out right now and I love it. We have about 100+ Cisco routers across the U.S. and have 30+ Cisco switches in house. We also have 300+ non-Cisco managed switches across the U.S. and this is where the tool comes in handy. The first release didn't work with our switches but after working with one of the…

I've made changes to it without problems. I believe you have to shut down NetPerfMon service, make the changes, start NetPerfMon.
-
Send the .bin via Xmodem...just remember to change the speed otherwise you'll be sitting there for hours and hours.
-
Get net-snmp.sourceforge.net/. You'll want to be running snmpd. I think there is a specific version that Orion requires though.
-
This is exactly what I was looking for as well. Please post if you find anything.
-
Could you just export to an excel file and sort by OID number?
-
Right-click the image (map) and choose properties. Copy down the address to the image and try to browse to it via the browser. Such as the SolarWinds image on the forums.... www.solarwinds.net/.../logo.gif Can you see the image this way?
-
Snmpbulkwalk and snmptable are not supported in the most recent version of Orion (8.5). I believe this is going to be added in the future but I would ask support about that.

What interface is your tunnel? sh ip int bri

From the command line (as root) do the following: snmpconf The above command should get you started. Once your snmpd.conf files has been created you need to move it to the proper location. Also, go here net-snmp.sourceforge.net/.../snmpd.html and follow the instructions. Pay close attention to the "Location, location,…

Ok...could someone that can monitor their volumes please post their snmpd.conf in full? I have net-snmp v5.0.9 installed and all I can monitor is CPU, Memory and Interfaces. According to Solarwinds' support, the reason my volumes are not showing up is because my agent insn't configured properly.
-
Thanks for the conf file. I'll apply the changes to mine and see how it goes. BTW...I'm running CentOS 4.3 (Kernel 2.6.9-34.EL --- Asterisk@Home 2.8).
-
Bret, do you see the disks of your Suse servers in Orion or only CPU, Memory and the interfaces?
-
Okay...I think I'm headed in the right direction but how much historical data is kept on reboots? I would like to determine the number of times each Node was rebooted since it was added to SolarWindds. This is what I have so far: SELECT Nodes.NodeID, Nodes.Caption, Events.EventType, Events.Message FROM dbo.Nodes,…

What version of the daemon are you running on the two Redhat servers?

I'm going to attempt to write some code into Orion to show the MAC address of connected devices to our switches along with their IP addresses. I believe the 'Switch Port Mapper' in the Toolset does something to this effect. I also plan on writing a custom page that'll show the status of my backup jobs (Symantec Backup…
-
Could you post screenshots of what you HP Openview shows? Orion is pretty customizable or you could easily write a page if need be.
-
Yes. I have similar setups as you. When setting up an alert there should be an option to suppress.

What template are you using and what kind of device is it?
