Thanks for the assist antonis.athanasiou. Yes I am using the web reporting engine and a custom SWQL query. I did try what you suggested and it does work in the meantime. This will work for my situation. dan jagnow I think we may have run into and discussed a similar issue a while back. However I don't have that article…

That helps to tell me what they are but not to write an SQL Query to pull those from the database which is my end goal. Guess I should have said that in the original post and will add it.

Thanks for the reply @zackm. You do raise a good point. The reason for my logic was that I did not want to automatically exclude any new statuses that SolarWinds might add in the future. For example my earlier thinking about Unreachable after it was introduced was that I did want the previously triggered Alert to Reset if…

I know this is an old post but your comment macnugetz differed from what I see in the current IPAM Admin Guide but helps make sense of what I see Transient Duration is set to in our systems. Maybe the Guide has a typo or maybe the range has changed. You said here the range is ".2 to 340" and the guide says " 2 to 340"…

We do something similar here as well. Having Exchange Distribution Lists, not being an Exchange Admin and having the Exchange Admin give me rights to add or remove people from the DL, I can simply change who gets the alerts by changing the DL rather than each Alert Email Action associated or even each Custom Property that…

Thanks Will... I have now opened to the NPM Community and do see your point about the differing timestamps. Thanks for pointing that out.

I am waaaayyyyy back on 2017.3.4 SP4. Finally hoping to upgrade to the latest after the first of the year. I had no problem running what I posted above in SWQL Studio but ran into the error when copying into a Report. Guessing that is a bug as well and likely a separate bug. Likely, if no one has a fix, I will just drop…

I am in a similar bind as I was above and need some assistance again. The Windows servers I talked about are still working with WMI but now I am adding another customer's Windows servers and not getting something right. Let me explain... The connection is through a VPN and I do have TCP/UDP:135 and TCP:445 open in that…

Perfect... That did the trick. Thanks for the assist.
-
Thanks tdanner. That worked for me until the fix comes out.

Same here.

Hey Kellie, Not MSP here but looking forward to meeting you in person. See you there.

Thanks for the info. What I am actually looking for dan jagnow it the actual table that information is stored in within the SolarWinds database. Do you know the name of that table?
-
Yes but they do not show up in Message Center.
-
Yes that was something I thought about early on but decided it was something I really would rather avoid. We are a software vendor who monitors some of our customers environments for them. So having the script be server based would mean we would need to log out to each customer site, log onto each server at that customer…

Looks like you have already figured this out but I will add what I have done as it might work better for some like me that are not as SQL statement literate... In my case, I have developed what I call an Information Alert Notification as opposed to a Warning or Critical Alert Notification. To do this, I set both the…

Strange... Same thing I did. Are you NPM 12.0.1 or 12.1? Wonder if something got fixed in new version.

Already been running SAM 6.1.1 for a couple of months now. I will open a support case. Thanks...
-
Thanks Ted... Exactly what I needed. Newby to SWIS API as well as PowerShell but gettin' if figured out.

Have any of you actually implemented Orion HA over OTV? I would be interested to hear the results without needing to do the initial testing if it has already been done. Mike
-
Ah... I still need to upgrade to those releases so I will try again then. Thanks

Actually the conversation here is about alerting through the Advanced Alert manager rather than using the Trap Alert manager. There is much more flexibility in the Advanced Alert manager than the Trap Alert manager. This still does need to be addressed and for some reason SolarWinds seems to be avoiding the topic…

I did also try something similar to that which I did not mention. The original test in the trigger and reset conditions was to test for Component Monitor Up. In the reset I changed the condition to not test for Component Monitor up but rather for Application Monitor Up using the same Application Monitor that contains the…

The servers I am dealing with for this are all Dell so the info provided thus far has all been helpful. However, we have some Windows 2008 Servers with Dell OpenManage that are getting the "Hardware Health" and others that are not. Also none of our Windows 2012 servers with OpenManage are collecting "Hardware Health". Is…

Bringing to the top.... Any ideas?

aLTeReGo is right.. Let me explain what I have done. I have first generally categorized my monitors into Vital and Non-Vital meaning that either a certain component, if down, will impact the production environment or will not. Next I created three general Component Monitor Alerts. One for Critical level threshold crossings…

I am not seeing Serena's "Expanding Your IT Toolkit" in the downloads either listed separately or in the "Download All Presentations" zip. Was that renamed to something else or just not included for some reason?

I am tagging onto this post because my situation is very similar to what sky2830 described but a bit different. I also have a group of Windows 2003 Servers (actually Windows 2003 Standard SP2). In my case some are successfully being polled from NPM using WMI, thanks to assistance from aLTeReGo as well, but 3 others I am…

Bump... See middle paragraph from original post for still unanswered question. TIA
