@"danielleh" I am running into a lot of links leading to the "Access Denied" error page with the message "You do not have sufficient privileges for this resource or its parent to perform this action. Click your browser's Back button to continue." This is even when I was logged into my account. The latest…

Can anyone tell me if there is still no migration path for FSDB data when moving from NTA 4.2.3 using FastBit to NTA 4.6 using SQL?
-
I did look at this option. You can only change "Allow Account to Unmanage Objects" if "Allow Node Management Rights" is set to "No". However when you do this, this also removes the ability to Mute Alerts on a single Node. The whole "Maintenance Mode" option disappears from the Management wizard on the Node Details page.…

makes a very, very good point. If SolarWinds is at all interested in attracting and keeping larger enterprises, they really should be reviewing these types of requests not only based on interest but also based on future marketability. If looked at from that viewpoint, I think that SW would have no choice but to consider…

Yeah thanks rstoney00... I was just doing further research and learned that is is possible to insert SQL queries in as variables in Re: Application custom properties in advanced alerts. Much appreciated and hopefully this short thread will help others in the future with the same issue.

I believe that in order for a NMS to be successful you need to target the right staff, keep them engaged in the NMS, keep monitored components current and eliminate the noise. Those should be top goals on any NMS Administrators list and are at the top of mine. Without the discipline to keep that focus, you start to loose…

Maybe I am missing something. Not to mention that most people do not want their phones and tablets set to UTC, using UTS does not eliminate the need for our team, scattered around the globe, to add or subtract the necessary hours to know what time this occurred in their time zone. I still believe in this request and feel…

Ah... That helped a bunch not only in my understanding but also to solve another problem I had. Thanks for that. Although you did not say it, I am going to assume that you cannot pass threshold values from the script back into Orion. Please correct me if that is wrong. The reason I am pushing this is that I have another…

aLTeReGo, I read here that, at least at the time of this thread, Real-Time Polling was not available in PerfStack for Nodes polled using the Orion Agent. We are getting ready to switch to using the Orion Agent for all of our Windows Servers and are running some tests. I found that a VM @ WS 2008 R2 is showing Real-Time…

This whole thread has been very informative to me. While I read some of these things in the Administrator, which BTW I have read from cover-to-cover, they really did not sink in until this conversation. Or at least not ways to use what I had read. I hope others get the same benefit I have from our conversation. But... One…

I have made this request so many time over the past many years both here in Feature Requests as well as directly to the UI Team and others at SW. Another page with the same problem is the Manage Dependency page. They need to go through and update all list type pages to behave the same and, preferably, like the Manage…

Big thumbs up on this one for a link to such a tool from everywhere variables could be used. My big challenge is understanding what variable to use based on the context where I am at in Orion. For example, adding the Node Caption related to an Application Alert Rule.

@"bridgetn" , The easiest way to set this up in SAM is using the 'snmp Monitor' Component Monitor. You can find the MIBs needed by searching for iDRAC SNMP MIBs or similar in your browser. Personally, I use a PowerShell script inside a Component Monitor because I am interested in more information that is sometimes text…

Just took a little persuading and now it is working for both our WS 2016 and WS 2019 test Nodes. Rebooted both and did a Rediscover and now the data is showing for both.
-
It probably would also help if I explained that the Component Monitor type is "Linux Script"...

Thanks jblankjblank for providing feedback. We did just go to 2019.4 and had been on 2018.4 for almost a week prior. So I am still new to Orion Maps. I am not using Network Atlas today but had in the past at other companies. I did not previously see that the Map sub-view was available for Groups but had seen it for Nodes.…

This request is to provide a feature to temporarily unmanage not to remove. If you have service going on with the related component, you don't want to remove history from before the maintenance window. We have always had the ability to disable the component. I have always used that if I am not needing the particular…

I have also suggested this to the SolarWinds UI Team. In our case, for example, a disk drive goes bad in a server, an Alert triggers, the Alert is reviewed by an Engineer, new disk is ordered and Engineer wants to remove the Alert from the Active Alerts list while waiting to install newly ordered disk to avoid confusion…

Well yes, that would be nice as well but not what I was trying to get at here. Actually, I am looking to have the Component Name included chart legends as my examples show at the bottom of my initial post.
-
Thanks zzz... Actually already doing what you recommend in your reference post as I noted above. However I am suggesting a way to make the displayed field name cleaner to the user and more readable to the average, non-technical user. In my case, we have customers who would like to have the ability to view Orion screens…

You are correct that I confused the suggestions. Yet another crazy week. I do understand what you are suggesting and for those of you that know HTML, that will likely work well. I need to brush up on my HTML skills and try what you suggest as well. However, in the meantime, there are likely to be others who don't want to…

Is it just me or is there something strange about date stamps on posts? For example, for me it shows that @"danielleh" posted this article "2020-02-51 06:58 PM". How can I decipher what 51 is?
-
OK... That was what I was trying in my original post and it was not working. Of course now that aLTeReGo is involved it works. I have a partner like that as well. Many attempts to accomplish something fail until he gets involved and then all works. Thanks again aLTeReGo.

A little further study... I also tried to get the values in my ${Node.QCPR_4_Lab}, and ${Application.Lab_App} or ${APM_ApplicationCustomProperties.Lab_App} Custom Property fields to display in an alert email but they just appeared in the email as "${Node.QCPR_4_Lab}, and ${Application.Lab_App} or…

I actually did run into a problem but your help did get me further along as usual. I also did figure a way around the issue and would like to share my findings. At the end, I am also making some suggestions which support earlier product enhancement requests I have submitted. Before the addition of the "Display Name" field…

Thank you very much! That was definitely one piece to the puzzle that I could not figure out. Now... That raises a new question however... You can have up to 10 Message/Statistic values that return from the script and populate the 10 Script Output sets. Each of these can have Warning and Critical Thresholds. In my case I…

Yes... My mistake, I was thinking of somethings else. Sorry. I still don't like Unmanage. I would rather data was still collected, when it can be, during maintenance windows. It can be helpful for analyzing issues that started during the maintenance window. Having the ability to Mute Alerts allows that to happen. I do…

I do something similar to deverts with CPs. One identifies if the node is in my Live environment so my team can see it or not. Another identifies if a SAM App Monitor is live or not so I can add/QA/upgrade/test without Alerts going to the team. Still another identifies my Support Team(s) related to the node's support so…

mvanbavel, I think this is just a timing issue you are experiencing. The problem is that even though the parent is reporting Up after a Poll of it, the children may not yet have completed polls indicating they are now in an Up state. When the parent when Down, it was moved to the Down state and it's children moved to…

I also just submited the similar idea before spotting this one. Please vote there are wlll.
