I see that, but how do we get alerts if a particular AP goes offline? Set them up as Nodes via ICMP polling only? or is there some other way?
-
What about the secondary question he had. When you do a Sonar discovery, I would assume all the custom property fields are actually NULL. Maybe test for Added="" would work better in a NULL situation. I'm not sure, thoughts? I'm a little scared to do a Sonar Discovery right now. I'm afraid it will do silly things like list…

Much better way of doing it, thanks... Look forward to improvements in this!!!

I tried that and still no edit option. I even tried adding the Last 50 Events and it has no edit option either. Last 25 and Last 50 events have a "Help" button, but no edit button. I notice I also don't have an edit option on Active Alerts.

Here is a shot of the page layout.. note the Resourse name is "Average Response Time & Packet Loss"

I'm on version 10.6.0.84 of the tool set. Of course, when I went to take a screen shot to show it not working.. it worked!!
-
We all have those moments!! The real treat though would to be able to acknowledge them via Email or a mobile phone frendly webpage / application... hint... hint.. *wink* ... *wink* (Glances at the SolarWinds folks)

I need the ability to turn this off QUICKLY. I hate the idea of having to go into SQL and DELETE entries. We are an oil and gas field and there are several devices in the field that have limited resources on their IP connection, and since solarwinds has been doing L2 and then L3 topology discovery we've noticed most of…

I'm not sure it would show up as a "Node with Problems" but you can make advanced alert rules to monitor and email based on the UDP data.

We have our corporate HQ where our server farm is and the Orion NPM lives. Across a fairly saturated MPLS link, we have a site "A" that has a good portion of the remote devices we wish to poll. Say, 60% of what we want to poll remotely. As is, all of our ping stats factor in the quite variable delay times involved with the…
-
I know the SMTP configuration is fine because the system is emailing me on all my other alerts.
-
scottd, I added them as nodes with ping (ICMP) polling only, so they know nothing of interface statuses. They show as DOWN in Orion when I shut the interface since the IP they are pinging no longer responds.
-
So, I wait for someone to contact my about my ticket??? It's been a couple hours and I've not heard anything.
-
Sorry for the late reply, but yes, we did go with MIR3. Everyone loves it.
-
Yes, I am logged in with my account that has full admin privledges. This screen shot is just as the node came back up after 10 minutes of outage....
-
Finally figured it out!! BundledLink != 1 True being a 1 and false being a 0. Thanks
-
No doubt there... I'm not a SQL Guru by any means, I don't even think I could call myself proficent in SQL. The idea of having to go insert SQL queries seems like a complete hack! I'm not wanting to write someting that becomes so super customized that documentation and training become an issue. Come on SolarWinds, step up…
-
Bump, having this issue as well...
-
It would be very nice if Orion allowed you to tell the system what the "normal" status of an interface/node was, and alert when it changes vs it assuming that UP is the normal status.
-
JUST upgraded to NPM 9.5 SP4, and I can certainly say that having to click every interface on our regular user switches to set them to unplugable is a pain.... I would love to see some kind of template for such a thing, where I could say, All the Cisco C3560G-48PS devices assumed that G0/1 - 48 were unplugable and left the…
-
On another note, when I go to Customer Portal, then select Download Software, what I'm presented with doesn't tell me what service pack it is, it just lists that it is version 9.5 of NPM. Across the top it says that these are the latest versions, but it doesn't actually tell me which SP might be inside it. Am I correct…
-
So here we are, post 9.5 SP4 with Wireless features. Where do we stand as far as LWAP's monitoring directly? Do i still just add them as nodes for ICMP only and expect I will get all my info from the Controller Node?
-
Miron, I can find NO way to get the status of another node inside an advanced alert. Am I missing something? From what I can tell I can only access the status and custom properties of the node that generated the triggered event. I've thought about custom properties for the uplink, but can not find a way to reference…

Thanks for the quick response! I am an admin, and I have edit on most all my other items on my main view, but I do no have edit ability on the "Last 25 Events" Any idea why I wouldn't have an edit option above this particular widget?
-
I'm using FireFox 3.6.6, with SW Engineer's Tools Set. NONE of the Tools set integration works.. :-(
-
I'm new toCatTools, and we have some Avaya G250/G350 Gateways. I'd be very interested in getting a copy of your script if you get it working so we could include them with our backups of our network switches.
-
The Custom Property I created is "BundledLink" and is Property Type "Yes/No Property" I can't seem to come up with a SQL statement to filter it upon, can I get some help?
-
This sounds like it is on the right path, but the Top 10 Interfaces by Percent Utilization that I have doesn't have an edit button... I am on NPM 9.1 Edit: I was able to add the Top XX Interfaces by Percent Utilization and now I have an edit button.
-
No, sure haven't. We would like to have it available for our support staff to do "tier 1" troubleshooting without having CLI access.
-
Mysteriously, I came in this morning and the interfaces are just fine... *Shrug Thanks for the reply!
