Back to work and back at it bump !

Congrats to all the winners !! Thanks to all the Thwack admins who, thought up, designed, built, researched, and listened to us whine about the missions !

I second clubjuggle 's and jkump 's comments as well as the OP. I had worked for an outsourcer in a previous life and we had a customer that if you were not honest and the contact found out or detected BS, she would rip you a new one...she would be justifiably right and would follow it up with an adjustment to the monthly…

Interesting.... Identity-as-a-service, that's a new one to me. Looks like I'll have a chance to interact with Okta pretty soon. So we shall see. I am not a Gartner fan. Just because something is in the magic quadrant doesn't make it appropriate for your needs. I worked at one company who wouldn't touch any software that…

Nice....I just didn't see any sort of deadlines for this.

While Thwack can be a tool. It is at times more of a lifestyle...

I still have a working pioneer sx-737 from the mid 70's. Granted this picture isn't of my unit. I could spend a little time refinishing the cabinet and likely replacing various capacitors that time has aged. Ah the days of pure analog...complete with FM drift. How many people here remember that?

He just wants the Fax...

When other groups ask you to do something and will not provide requirements, then you proceed and provide your own requirements along with the documented proof that they had the opportunity to provide requirements and either failed to do so or refused to do so.

@"yumdarling" it looks like todays question is blank.

Here is an example of our phishing tests that go out to people... Many are themed for the season as was this one... This is the results after I clicked the phish_me button. Afterwards the email disappears....actually ends up in deleted items folder.

Nice write up...a note if you decide to use statistics in your pitch...since they can be used to convey a message be ready to defend your methods especially if one of the management types can twist your statistics around to show the opposite or invalidate your methods.

yep...just finished with our 3rd named storm of the year for the Atlantic season..

You should read the survey results linked in this article for better clarification as the article doesn't go far enough in reporting the information. The 30 pages of results while a bit long is a much better read with more meaningful detail that puts things in better context.

I support this idea... Need to submit it as an official idea and we'll bump it up !!
-
beware the cloud...you can likely see it but not touch it which means you may not be able to monitor it...end the end it is someones elses computer with your data and you have no control on resources or security. otherwise step 1 & 2 sum it up.

Sizing is an art and a science. Part math and part WAG (Wise A** Guess) aka educated or informed estimation. Temper it with trending analysis and you may stay on top of it. You can't EVER plan well enough for explosive growth...You may know it is coming but until things start populating you can't ever get a real gauge of…

not after taste..when you need caffeine, you need caffeine.

Getting buy-in and access from the DBA's.

I like the write up. While I don't follow Gartners closely, in fact I tend to walk away when I hear references to them, I do look to see who they list for a specific area of technology. I also know they don't do a full hands on evaluation of a product to see where it fits...every ones "Magic Quadrant" is different. But…

Friday upgrades/changes seem to invite Murphy into the fold...especially if you are heading out of town for the weekend....

reminds me of Captain Midnight and the whistle.

I know a few extra class operators that have no business behind the wheel or on the air.

Friday Morning bump !

I always knew b-sides as the other side of the album...the tracks that were never good enough for the a-side.

Granted the "cloud" is a tool. To me it is more of "The Fog" because there are so many unseen things that may not appear until it is very late in the game. Of course fog is truly a cloud that is on the ground so the analogy is not incorrect. Drive around in the fog and you may not see an obstacle until it is too late. The…

I was getting my Steve Austin starter kit installed. I had neck surgery 4 weeks ago to install some hardware. Currently I am working half days from home since I am unable to drive until I can take the c-collar off.

Looks good...now if I can only find some time.

That is a notification by the thwack environment. It is not spam.

There is already a data warehouse idea out there.... #bumpsquad
