They don't like your version of the truth so they will keep looking elsewhere until they find the version they like to hear. Very much a kid who doesn't like they answer they get from one parent and then go ask the other to see if they get a better answer.

App sizes...those numbers don't take into account how much space the app takes once it starts updating it's own little database. Now your 248MB app is taking up 2.9 GB, or more. Apple has a vested interest in bloated apps...it helps them to sell cloud space and hardware with more storage. At least on the android side, most…

You fail to mention IBM had been doing virtualization for a good decade before your introduction to VMware. We were running virtual mainframe instances in the mid to late 90's at Radioshack. VM is an actual mainframe operating system and was introduced in 1972. We utilized it a great deal for "time travel testing" during…

Your Talk, Talk , Talk point is a key here. I set up bi-weekly meetings with various groups just for that point. It becomes a forum where we can let each party know future plans, what is headed the others way, what can we do to help you do your job better, etc. sort of thing.

The tool has merit...but is based on historical data. Granted some extrapolation of data may represent growth and increased load, but there are always other variables that cannot be accounted for especially if you are adding new applications and servers into the mix.

Ahh...to have available cubicile space. We are using storage closets to hide the bodies (I mean new hires) until people get shuffled around to allow for cube space.

webex here....it allows you to control what they have access to and monitor what they are doing. It also allows us to recreate and show them how an error occurs...which can be hard to describe and convey in a meaningful manner. Being a financial institution, we have to make sure the vendor has no access to customer data.…

Agreed, score 1 for the good guy. Not going to subscribe the the WSJ to read one article. (Amazon/VMware) S.A.R.A. I would say is an important step towards artificial intelligence and the required interactions with human kind. Still playing catch up from last week....
