The only other things that I would be sure to include is the ${DateTime} in the message of your alert. If you have questions let me know. Keep in mind that this will only watch 1 device (Machine Type) for a change to a specified ViewID. This will not watch all views for any changes. Its hard to say what exactly is making…

It figures as soon as I post a question I stumble across the answer myself. So for those that may find this post later here is the solution to my problem. IIS by default locks you out from making manual changes the the MetaBase.xml file. Therefor you must go and override that setting before you can make changes. This MS…

Denny, Is there a way to test if Orion is in fact alerting on temporary conditions? We are having similar problems with our APM and it seem to jump around on two different Proxy HTTP montors. I have the alert time until trigger set to 4 minutes but this still sends alerts. BlueCoat engineers say there is nothing wrong with…

When you kill the netperfmon process on the primary NPM server, can you tell if you're loosing data that the poller on the primary may have collected? I would also like to know this. As I have read a number of times on here to just kill the process I am uncomfortable doing so as I was under the impression that it was…

If know what you mean because I recently set up some alerts in a similar fashion as yours. After getting a few "reset" emails without having gotten "alert" emails, I ended up using the "delay" at the bottom of the Trigger Condition tab rather than delaying the alert action. This way no alert is triggered at all unless the…

I know where your coming from but I still think this is possible using Advanced alerts. After seeing your Trigger I have a suggestion. It's hard for me to test it on my system because I do not have a similar case or custom property to test with. Trigger when all the following apply Node Status is equal to Down Node is…

For anyone that may come across this thread in the future here is what needed to be done: After returning all services to original state and following up with SW it was determined that the database changes "may take a while" and to "let it run until it finishes" I scheduled another maintenance window and started install…

Very nice feature. I will be looking forward to your return and the posted zip download. Great work.

I think a Lab edition for customers that already have a full licensed copy would be EXCELENT. I agree the 5 would be a little low to accuratly test all of the functions of Orion but 20-25 should get the job done with no problem. Offering this version to current customers only would avoid the lost money for shops that may…

I just spent the time between posts doing some further investigation to see if it was in fact a problem on my side. I have come to a similar conclusion that you have just told me. I have read that although REG.EXE is included with the Windows 2000 package it must be installed manually (not part of auto install). With this…

I think this would be a great alternative. If we have 600 nodes its a pain to have to click 6 times to get to the bottom of the list. I would like further information on how to change the code to what you described. Thank you.

We do not support SNMP v3 traps in version 8.0. Denny LeCompte Sr. Product Manager, Orion SolarWinds Does 8.5.1 SP3 Support v3 traps?

dclick, I created some custom scripting that runs Engineers Toolset switchport mapper on a schedule. The mapper outputs in an XML file which is then interpreted by and XLS on a webpage. The page is then linked through a custom Resource based on IP address through Orion. The script pulls the IP address and ARP router…

1. If you did not export/import your action its REAL easy to get a typo in that little exe box. If I'm cutting and pasting I use an editor between pastes as a sanity check. I did both an import and export and I used and editor to check, double check, and tripple check the syntax. I even retyped it from scratch to make sure…

Need to know what was done to fix this. Urgent. Please respond.

Any idea what the Corrupted database issue was ? I am having the same problem. Help?

I would like to see all of the above in addition to a way to manage email/alert contacts. It would be great to be able to have devices/people organized into groups so alerting a group would be as easy as adding that group into the alert rather then having to put each and every email address or device address. Currently we…

I am using Outlook2003. However, I would like to be able to edit it in format beyond the scope of the bug. Changing it to include or not include other stats or custom "verbiage" would be nice. Thanks,

Lets drum up more support for this. A monitor for the monitor is REALLY needed. +1 for my Vote.

Correction. CISCO-REMOTE-ACCESS-MONITOR-MIB:crasSVCNumSessions 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.392.1.3.25 Should be 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.392.1.3.35

I am not 100% sure this is the same problem we are having since I am not the lead on this issue. But we are having a problem with Report Scheulder not updating the MS Tasks Scheduler when we make any changes. If I remember conversation with my co-worker this was infact fixed with 10.1.2. You may want to contact support and…

I had a number of issues/questions. Would these instructions be the same for uninstalling from a HSB system? I was testing this uninstall on the HSB before doing it to the running production machine. There seems to be a few missing files. 1. Deleting the AppMon poller service using the command mentioned returned an error…

1. Thanks I will look into this with our DBA people. 2. I added a table and all was well. Thanks. 3. We currently are using 8.5 but will be upgrading within the month to 9.0. I think I may wait until then to implement those changes with the new aspx format.

Bump for SW need this info before COB for planned migration this weekend :)

* With APM it is possible to run a SQL script to look for these occurrences and handle the monitoring and trigger alert process. I will give this a try and see if I can creat something that makes sense and is not too messy. Do yo uhave any further insight into exactly what tables or variables I should be using when writing…

Any progress on this problem. We are encountering something similar and need ideas to figure out more details of our problems.

Ugg...I hope this is not the solution. SW Techs ? Input?

Bump on my Previous Questions? What does 'dedicated NIC' mean? See above for my confusion.
