I'd really like to see the warning labels on IoT-Stuff :-D

you might want to check for SWUGs in UK or in Germany, those are your closest destinations from Denmark where a SWUG was held in 2018

thanks gregwstuart for driving the conversation *thumbsup* what makes me wonder is why many managers feel the need to be "all cloud" because it is "hip" and it supposedly saves money. I am a tech-guy, not a sales/management guy. And yes there are many folks out there don't listen to the real experts but just see the…

this seems to be in the wrong category.... solarwinds Backup is a saas backup solution on it's own... I believe you want this in the SAM forum. However if you know what's needed to monitor Cohesity, you can easily create a SAM Template, maybe even share it with the community

how would you specify accounts stored locally in the solarwinds DB. I can relate to your FR but I don't see this as an easy implementation, you would need to see if there is a local account to log in, and then go to AD. What happens when you add a local account that is named exactly like an AD account. would it be local…

Please check out this feature request as well thanks

I can only encourage everyone to take part in the UX program. I have participated in some sessions and it was also helpful for myself to get a „guided outside look“ onto how I use my Solarwinds products. be a usabili-buddy!

same here I also did not quite understand the hint to be honest. Every Scenario has its own way of dealing with it, that's what I got from the video. Better luck next month....

I personally think that the number of AMAD (accidentally mapped application dependency) is still a little high. Don’t get me wrong, I really think we are going the right way, however there is still some work to do.

I agree on your "not dumbing down too much" approach. I find this to be a very thin line and something that can only be learned by experience.
-
shuth, while I find your Idea great and it seems to be a no-brainer, in the meantime there is something you can do about this on your own: here's how to add a ICMP Poller via the SDK, you need to adjust your select statement to only cover the nodes you want. this is just quick and dirty but should give you an idea how to…

Ein Netzwerk Paket schnell und geschwind. Fliegt durch den Äther wie ein Wind. wo ist es nun oh je oh je, wir wissen es nicht, es war UDP

manglement.... :-D i guess this is an intended typo ... love it!

DanielleH is the poll already closed? I was able to answer the question a few minutes ago, but did not receive the points for it. Thanks for checking in advance.

When your device owners won't configure the devices like they should , and really they should for their own security/protection/... you somehow need to MAKE them. Send reports to management what devices can't be reaced due to what reason. Even though it will make you the bad guy, it is for everyones good.

Has it been almost 5 years.... wow. Time flies by. Always fun to hang around with you! Off to the next years with adventure and monitoring fun!

the regional "counterdish" from where I live is the Schäufele -> Schäufele - Wikipedia we use the font legs not the rear legs :-D

@"ChrystalT"the "inner circle" of course get's "all year 'round support", the extended family (cousins, Uncles, etc)relies on the festivities and now on remote support capabilites.

Thanks for this article. I can see where I have stepped into the trap In the past and let the bias lead to an outcome nobody wanted. like alwas be careful because ITS A TRAP

don't worry wabbott is already working on it, we all should get a retry

Just found this post, so I am aware I respond to a rather old question: i guess you would need to add the assets-poller as well. Just enabling it in the database is not enough. there are some API/SDK discussions in the forum, you might want to check out those.

@"mjperkins" ouch... luckily I never had to find illegal stuff that could get someone in jail. However I "accidentally" wiped a disk with pirated movies one time. I used to work as a projectionist in a movie theater during high-school and college to have some extra cash to buy the latest high-tech stuff, so I wasn't a huge…

While there are numerous tools out there that have a deeper insight into their special area, there are not many that have an very good insight view in ALL areas of IT. While some teams can use their own tools to fulfill their in depth needs, the "oversight" needs to be with a powerful "one stop shop" (love the word, thanks…

There are many great PowerShell scripts arount to use in SAM in order to check how your O365 is used what is consumed and how well users adapt to using it. You can start with the builtin scripts to get an idea how to write those scripts. From there on the possibilities are almost endless. #powershell lover

Haven't utilized Syslog very often in the past. I tend to see it as....yes we have the Information but it is burried in the noise of other syslogs. Filtering and searching are the key I guess. Hoping for the new Orion Logmanager. I didn't like the "old" Syslog Viewer in Orion. Also LEM has been somewhat frustrating with…

I do see this as well. with software defined networks and more and more complex infrastructures the CLIs will become the "last ressort acces" but not the main config access. vendors will move towards where everything can be pushed and pulled by API-calls

There are some creatures that I've never heard of, glad to find the whacky-pedia articles linked to the creatures. Learned something new while reading the articles.
