HELP! NOthing has worked - I still have NO web or system administrator access. HELP PLEASE!

Re-starting all the services did not help. Config wizard did not help. Re-installing the Info service did not help. I'm now rebooting the server in the hope that I'll get functionality back.

Hi All. Anything further on this? My Exchange monitor goes into "unknown" status several times each day, and drilling down & testing indivudual components brings up 2 errors: failed with 'Undefined' status - Process not found failed with 'Undefined' status - out of memory. My monitoring server is averaging 25% memory use…

Hi All. It appears that last week and this, an external vendor has been working on our servers and changing ports and instance names without informing us. This accounts for the spotty connection to 1433 yesterday and it’s complete failure today. . .as they changed everything to another port. Cheers, Gareth.

OK, I did all of the above and seem to have lost all connection into Orion. System manager is not showing any nodes and the web interface is unavailable. I am re-running the configuration wizard.

Hi Marie. I have opened case # 226395. So far I have: * Verified that there are no router/firewall blocks between the monitoring and the SQL server. * Verified that there is no block on the Windows server firewall. * Verified within SQL that the TCP/IP connection is enabled. * Restarted the SNMP service. (Unlikely to be…

Thank you. I understand how that works now. It's not explicit in any of the documentation & making this clear might makes things easier for people who want to use this functionality.
-
I've downloaded, thanks. I like the feature of filtering on the forwarding host, which will reduce NW traffic & reduce processing load on the Orion server. I'll do some testing next week & feedback then.

Are all the fields greyed out, or can you input details but not save? Have you tried adding one new node & seeing of you can edit that? Also, have you tried editing the nodes in the web interface? Were any SQL changes made at the same time, particularly ITO permissions?

Here's how I did my iFrame: <iframe src="c:\inetpub\solarwinds\systemreference\systemreference.htm" width="800" height="600" frameborder="1" scrolling="auto" name="systemreference"> TEXT FOR NON-COMPATIBLE BROWSERS HERE</iframe>

Hi, I'm running NPM 9.1 SP4 with APM 2.5. There is still no sign of being able to add APM elements onto maps. Is there an anticipated release date for this please? In the meantime, is it possible to edit views to show limited APM elements (e.g. allow accounts to only see accounts application statuses). Thanks, Gareth.

Sorry, screenshot got lost.

Andy thanks so much for this - exactly what I needed. G.

Just as another note, depending on where you are located, a more efficient way of confirming internet access would be for you to ask your ISP for their gateway address & ping that, or else a web server hosted at least in your town. Less hops, less time.

Hi Team. Has there been any movement on this? I've been having this issue with a number of 2008 R2 SQL servers. A network scan (from my monitoring server) shows that the ports are open. Orion says otherwise. . . Thanks, Gareth.

Excellent, thanks very much - correct files obtained. Site is not particularly intuitive on this, perhaps consider changing the descriptions to make them clearer?
-
I am trying to add it into a customised inventory report, but cannot find any way to add this as a field / variable / whatever. As for "a little coding" - could you maybe be more specific please (which file to edit, what code to add etc). Thanks.
-
This is great, thanks. It will require quite a major rework of all our alerts, but this is what we need. Thanks again.
-
One potential problem here is that the account under which Orion is running may not have the correct rights on the remote server. I don't see anywhere in the advanced alerts console to set which account should be used to issue the command to the other server's failed service.
-
It works perfectly, thanks. It was using the dropdown add vs the menu add that baffled me. Thanks for your assistance - much appreciated.
-
There was an odd problem with the SNMP service on the server. It was still passing values on previously configured items like CPU & memory, but wouldn't pass data on any new request areas. I deleted all the settings , reinstated & restarted, and now all seems ok.
-
I'm not too concerned at this point as I have no functionality or compatibility issues with NPM 9.5 and OWSF 8. I'm just trying to be proactive & ensure that there aren't any bumps in the road ahead. I know there are also freeware syslog forwarders out there, but I'd rather have a reasonably homogeneous monitoring…
-
This does indeed seem to be the issue. How do I correct it? Thanks!
-
Unfortunately the software is fairly crude & there is no SNMP extension. Thanks, Gareth.
-
OK, I have fudged a workaround. I created an excel spreadsheet and saved it as a .htm page in inetpub\solarwinds\systemreference. I then created a custom HTML resource, and planted an iFrame that references the spreadsheet. I have shared the \systemreference folder, and allowed the user rights to that one folder only.…
-
Thanks for the input. Unfortunately the problem was that in the web manager, the interfaces did not appear in the resource list - only in the System manager application.
-
Thanks very much for the input. We'll give this a try next week & I'll feedback once it's done.
-
Hi Mav, thanks for the assist, but I'm looking for the full graph that I can manipulate & customise for specific time spans as you would an availbility graph for anything else, something like this. Thanks, Gareth.
-
Hi Nandish Thanks for this, but I'm looking for a dashboard chart for a SINGLE interface. I have a Brocade switch where one bay is throwing errors - the event list clearly shows this, but I can't seem to provide a chart for that individual interface. Thanks!

Hi, Any alert that uses suppression techniques needs to be an advanced alert. Then in the alert rules, for the device alerts you want to suppress, add an AND statement that makes the alert conditional on the up / down status of the other device. Very simply, if you have devices A, B, and C, where B and C are behind, or…
