In Reports, there is an "All Down Nodes" report. There is also a "Down Nodes" report. You could do something like that. There are "Group" reports as well. This might not help you, but what I find easier is to provide our Management a view that includes "Groups". I create "Groups" of nodes by physical location. Admin >>>…

Yes. Go to "Mange Reports" under the "Alerts & Report" section. On the "Report Manger" page, search "application". Duplicate & Edit "Top 100 Applications - Last 24 Hours". Under "Layout Builder" rename header and Change table to "last month" or "last 31 days" depending on what you want. Change whatever else you need inside…

Question. What is your definition or expectation of what an "application" is? As application, do you mean SNMP, TACACS, BGP, etc or Outlook, Minecraft, Skype, etc. Here's my process for adding an apps chart. My definition for applications in this scenario are SNMP, TACACS, BGP, etc. 1) You need Netflow setup/monitored. 2)…

Thanks for the follow up. I don't have anything else to add based on what's already been posted. I'll write this problem down in my smart book incase I happen to run into it in the future.

Similar or same? APC Smart-UPS X 2200 are newer models. APC Smart-UPS 2200 are a model made years ago. 1) OIDs differ in some "X series" smart-ups to the older Standard "Smart-ups series" ups units. You might have an OID issue. I've ran into a similar issue on some devices that were swapped out. Stale information was…

I experience either the same or similar issue. I know what causes mine specifically, buy I don't know about your site. Depending on the network you are on, you many be restricted from accessing internet webpages from your SolarWinds servers. I am in an environment where the network is locked down. There are strict policies…

Is the new UPS unit the same model number as the old UPS unit?
-
Are you asking for help? It could be a couple things. Are you using SNMP? Are the credentials currently, correct?
-
I could be wrong, but I don't think this will do what you want. Your polling engines are still going to be located below your DMZ. For remote access, you're going to want a VPN. If you built a backdoor into the cloud services from your home, you're creating holes in your security. Allowing your laptop or desktop to access…

I waited a few days and thought the same thing. I looked in my SPAM folder and the BadgeCert email was in there. The email came like a day or so after I passed the exam. You can print out the certificate when you do what the email says. If the email is already gone, message PSI. They are partners/working with BadgeCert.

I don't see that anyone answered your question yet. This is my understanding. Someone can further clarify or correct me where I'm wrong. Simple answer/Generalization: Different devices read in different formats. It is similar to video file encoding. Some files are supported naturally on Windows Media Player (like MP4s). To…

Cheryl, Thanks for the advice. I've enjoyed your classes and I've attended one of your Office Hour sessions. When I run into an issue while reading/testing stuff, I might sign up for your Office Hours again. Thanks.

Thanks for the explanation.

I've taken quite a few "On Demand" classes. I am just curious to see how the class goes/works.

Maybe I shouldn't have opened my mouth. Class #2 canceled. "Thank you for registering for “Getting Started with Virtualization Manager”, on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, 01:00 pm - 04:00 pm US Central Time. Regrettably, we have to CANCEL this class due to a lack of interest from customers. The class will be offered again in…

Using NPM, have you added the node using SNMPv3 and see what it naturally polls? You should get something if you have SNMPv3 setup properly. It might not be what you need specifically, but you can experiment from there.
-
Do you mean something like this? You can duplicate the "Volume % Alert" that SolarWinds provides by default and check option to "Available Space". That should Alert you if a volume has less than XGb free.
-
I have been using SolarWinds for about a year. My experience is limited but here is what I’ve run across from testing and building stuff. * SolarWinds seems to be pieced together from multiple products. They buy from different vendors and mash the products together to get their final product. Since that happens, you get…

I'm not understanding your question. Do you mean that you created a dashboard/webpage, used the Widget and created a table or chart, added the table or chart to the page and the table or chart does not display information? Is that what you are going for? Or, did you create an SQL/SWQL query for a custom table/chart and…

For SDWAN Cisco devices, you can use SNMPv3 and build OIDs. Depending on what you have, you can check the Cisco ACI option for setup as well. The link below might be helpful and it lists the contact info for SolarWinds guy that worked on the SDWAN project/setup. thwack.solarwinds.com/.../sd-wan-what-we-do-now

Check out https://support.solarwinds.com/SuccessCenter/s/article/Submit-a-feature-request?language=en_US Also, you can call your support agent or SolarWinds helpdesk to make a request.

Is your IOS the same across the board? I remember seeing a weird copy and paste issue or bug Cisco put out for some 9300 series models awhile ago. They pushed some updates or something to fix it. I understand you did a copy and paste, but I would delete and re-add node hand jamming SNMPv3 . Have you looked at this link.…

Also, you mentioned checking CPUs of devices. Did you check the Orion Server and SQL Servers RAM and CPU as well? Are the SolarWinds servers wired with 1 Gb dedicated connections? Are the servers virtual or physical? We recently ran into an issue with one site that had virtual servers. We had random web access issues and…
-
The issue could be a quite few different things. It could be network related, server related, SolarWinds related, or a combination of all the above. You might need to get more specific so the problem can get isolated. Are the interfaces that are having issues polling on a LAN or WAN connection? Are the interfaces that are…

There are multiple factors that need to be considered when using OIDs. I don’t know your familiarity level with OIDs. My answer might be too basic and may not be the solution/answer to your problem. 1) As a whole, you will always pull more OID results for SNMPv2 vs. SNMPv3. Mathematically, there are more products that…

Keoki, thank you for the response. When it comes to temperature monitoring equipment, I am stuck using a preapproved equipment list for monitoring devices. AVTech is on that list. Most likely, I am not going to be able to get away with using semiconductors. I'll explore some of the other options you presented. Our…
