Turns out it was actually 2 things I'd not counted on 1) You need to have the source box on solarwinds 2) Make sure if you have an account limitation that the server hasn't been excluded by it D'Oh!

I fixed it in mine by changing the device type from Cisco.Switch.IOS to Cisco.Router.General. -Jeff

Hey Ilir, Are you doing this with LEM (Log & Event Manager) or another product?
-
if you are getting the ICMP status sounds like you have that part fixed. now for the SNMP i think it is ports 161 and 162 for it just make sure you are choosing UDP for it.

No need for a UnDP. That sounds like a bug. Please open a Support ticket.

When you create a trigger action, there's a tab called Alert Escalation. On that tab, you can set the action to be repeated every X minutes/hours/days while the alert is triggered.

Looking at the Palo Alto connector, the threat logs SHOULD be covered. You might need to submit a log sample so we can double check the format against our connector, maybe something has changed.

Hi lboley, What do you mean by "we got a half installed christmas tree" do you mean all of your devices are still there, but the names are not showing up? Or do you mean that only half of your devices are showing? When I upgraded to v8 I had two issues. Some of my devices could not be read by Orion under version 8. It…

Mark, I also need understand the impact to the regedit suggestion. Does this require a re-install? Do the Orion services need to shutdown? etc ...

Yes, you enter the URL of the target website. For the node, you can add the IP address (even it it's external) as an ICMP-only node. e.g., if you were trying to see if www.Google.com is up, you can figure out the IP address of Google and add it as an ICMP-only node. Then you create an HTTP monitor to test the URL. More…

Just managed to solve the issue. I added 2 regex patterns and that did the trick. ^Running ^Startup

Hi danbran, Make sure you follow the Community Events, Webcasts & Training calendar where we include London and other EMEA events whenever it's the case. Also, you might want to check our own annual virtual conference THWACKcamp, which is taking place on September 15th: Save the date… THWACKcamp 2016! Hope this helps.…

Actually, there's a simple setting on the Trigger tab in advanced alerts. You can get detail here: www.solarwinds.com/.../wwhelp.htm 10. If you want to specify a time duration for the condition to be valid, type the time interval and select Seconds, Minutes, or Hours from the list.Note: You may need to delay alert trigger…

Only SNMPv3 is encrypted, but if you're on a switched network it would be hard for sniffers to gather the snmp traffic going from devices to the SNMP server as it polls and captures traps. "public" is the default snmp ro string, so anyone with an SNMP app could poll your devices and gather info, so at a minimum you need to…

From the NPM console, select node details on the item you want to unmanage and you will see a button that should do what you want.
-
I agree. I don't care if a switch port is down, but I want to know if a router interface is down.
-
Maybe it's a hidden folder.
-
You would use Account Limitations and Custom Properties. User 2 would need to log in to the console with two different accounts. More detail in the Admin Guide.

Are you able to use the Windows tools to open it remotely by UNC path using that user/password? Do you see any other Internal events in the "LEM Internal Events" filter related to the connector after you configure and start it? Anything of note in the agent's log (SWLEMAgent.log, or spoplog.txt, in the agent's running…

Thanks alterego, updating the software did help, except that the link you sent has some old versions. We looked the model up and downloaded from the support page.

I can't speak for the OP, but in my environment I've added a bunch of Juniper, Cisco and Netscreen firewalls to our config backup schedule, and the Juniper and Cisco firewalls have all worked fine, whereas none of the Netscreen firewalls have. I don't think it's a password issue.
-
Just thought I'd give this question a bump as I'm having the same issue with CatTools and a TZ210. I've been trying variations to no effect - username and password prompts, full prompts etc in various permutations. No joy so far...
-
Have you opened a ticket with Support? I think we'll need Diagnostics to help you on this one.
-
Is there no way to see it from the NPM screen? There's not way to see it in System Manager. We are planning to upgrade the graph control we use for Custom MIBs on the web console.
-
You have to download and install the production versions on top of your eval versions. The production version will ask you for license info.

Not 100% sure if this is what you're looking for, but I've got something similar setup... What I've done was created a new email template (Setup/Email/Templates) that triggers an automatic email to the client when a tech changes the status to 'resolved'. The email to the client has a voting button in this case asking them…
