I must have posted this question a dozen times over the years, but here's another try.. Does this version support F5 LTMs? Is there a template built for config management?

NOT happy with the new web-only job interface. When editing an existing job the current hosts are not retained and I have to go verify and reselect all hosts needing the job in question. This is a step backwards, guys...

Are there plans to improve scheduled jobs web UI? Logicaly grouping jobs or reintroducing multischedule would be nice. Also a reintroduction of the next run column is desired along with some general UI improvements like ability to use more space on the screen. Upgrading to NCM 7.2 did break quite a lot for our…

Hi Bsterner! Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but it sounds like you're trying to try two commands so that both new and old devices will ultimately have syslogging enabled. Your post only has one line to enter the logging command, and it says " ${EnterConfigMode} logging server 1.1.1.1 Your goal is to try "logging 1.1.1.1" and…

If you had manually stopped the service before running the SP, then you should have been able to proceed without a problem. I suggest opening a support ticket.

Hi Dallas. Not yet, we are still in RC. You should get an email soon! Kathy

We just surveyed our customers and related customers using log data for SIEM/IT Ops/Compliance and got a lot of interesting insight into what features people are using. We're hoping to get some cool stories as a part of ongoing research, hopefully we'll get some we can share. Here are some that come to mind while people…

I think you're using the old Orion template. It was built for NPM 8.5. In 9.x, there is no Custom MIB poller. We've also added other services. Use the Find Processes/Services/WMI Counters wizard (formerly AppBuilder) to browse to all the services on the Orion server and add those. Drop the Custom MIB poller.
-
Mike, we worked on this and we have confirmed that This issue is resolved in NPM 10.4 - see the SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor Release Notes
-
Not yet! There is a feature request to add a label to nodes so that you could track them some way other than what the data passes through:
-
Not at this time.
-
Make sure that the Type of Property to Monitor is set to "Custom Node Poller" and you should then set the alert similar to: PollerName is equal to MyPollerName Numeric Status is equal to 1
-
Check this thread for a similar issue: I don't believe there is any in-built method of handling binary strings within SolarWinds, *but*, if Bit #1 is on the left, you could possibly just use the trigger 'Starts With'. e.g. Type of Property to Monitor: Custom Node Poller Trigger Alert when all of the following apply: Poller…

Hi All, Thanks for all the advised

a) You would need to buy two Orion licenses: Collect syslog in one and stats and status in another. Use Orion Enterprise Operations Console to consolidate. b) We don't formally support a merge, but if both are the same format, you could theoretically do it. I would suggest you engage the services of a DBA.

We are aware that this would be a popular feature. Unfortunately, we are unable to build all of the features that have been requested, and this feature will not be available in v8. This feature is under consideration for the next major release, which we expect to ship some time n 2007. Denny LeCompte Sr. Product Manager,…

to do that you have to go in and change their default view. which means every time you upgrade/re-run config tool it will get hosed. might be easier to just add a user defined resource like html or user links to get the same results it will just be in a box under the node details box or where ever you want it on the page
-
This is a constant annoyance for us also. I no longer try any new products to avoid the calls and the person that calls is almost always different every time.
-
That's not built into Orion yet. You can, however, look at SolarWinds LANsurveyor. www.solarwinds.com/.../index.aspx. It does automatic discovery and advanced network mapping today.
-
This error means your database was probably not correctly upgraded to 2.1. Rerun the config wizard. If that does not work, rerun the NTA install.
-
If you have the OID for the CPU, you can create a custom poller.
-
One option is to switch to the "Account Lockout" template from the "Account Modification" template. $info = UserDisable.EventInfo (which contains the name of the account) $date = UserDisable.DetectionTime (when) $source = UserDisable.SourceMachine (computer where the user was locked out) $dest =…

I don't know of a way to do this. Even with Tech Permissions set to nothing, the tech can still see their account and modify their email, password (if not LDAP), email notification settings, etc. If this is a need, I would advise submitting a feature request. Good luck...

Update: Solarwinds Support/Engineering Ticket still does not have a fix for this issue. The ticket has been open since July 6th, and they have been evaluating our diagnostics since that week. Support Ticket: 00137887

that fixed it, thanks for the assist silverbacksays

We had a similar issue with the syslogs inflating the database. We finally re-evaluated what we "truly" needed syslogs from and then ported syslogs to thier own dedicated server so that it did not inflate NetPerfMon anymore.
-
Not yet, but in 9.5, the tree should maintain state between refreshes.
-
Although this is a free software. I expected that someone would have given an answer...
-
You can do this today. In node management, select the "Show: [interfaces]" drop down. Then in the search box, type the name of the target server. You'll get a list of interfaces for that server.
-
We're adding a feature where you can add a node that isn't polled, but I don't see us adding exactly what you're asking for any time soon.
