According to Solarwinds, this problem is related to a Cisco bug, and according to Cisco it is bug CSCub66225 (http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCub66225). It was just reported a couple of weeks ago, so they are reaserching it now - although please open up a…

Let me know if you resolve this issue - I am running into the same issue on Nexus 5K's with the same software version. I noticed the same event messages even if the port was empty (no SFP) but monitored as a resource. Thanks

Never mind - I see that listed processes are not just those initiated my root. Thank-you.

Nice topic. This seems to have been a common discussion that led to Cisco providing add-ons to AVC like the iWAN product push. And Riverbed has added something similar with Path Selection. And of course, some folks definition of SDN. As we see these offerings mature, I think we'll get closer to the wants that several folks…

Hi Davorsl, Did you able to achieve this? I also need to set the same in my enviroment. Regards, Nishant

This file is not necessarily for adding a custom MIB. If your MIB is in our MIB database, you can add it that way. If your MIB is not in the database, all you need to put into the wizard is the OID of your target MIB. You'll have to set all the parameters manually. The import button does not import MIBs. It imports…

Hi jlim13, For every mission we have terms and conditions attached to the announcement blog. For instance, December mission is open to US, Canada, UK, and Germany. As for the drawings, every mission might have different rules. In terms of future plans for those not located in these countries, we cannot make any promises,…

It is complaining about my curly brace {.... ???? Thanks for any help... Kevin

It looks like we have a bug here. Make sure you're running under US English regional settings and things should work for you. Please let us know if that works for you(it has for another customer).

I am also looking for the same thing. I am in charge of adding the status of our internal network, down nodes, etc to be seen by all staff on my companies intranet page with no menus. Clicks to links can be allowed, but no permission to make changes by unauthorized staff. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Do you mean SNMP Real-time graph? That's a Toolset tool, not part of Orion. You might want to repost in the Toolset forum.

this is impressive very clever.

Interesting idea. Behind the scenes, there's a pool of alerts held in memory (on the console side) and the filter is basically just a "view" into the pool. When they expire from all filters, aren't displayed in any filters, and are over the pool's limit, they expire and get recycled. We're already using the time to draw…

If these are XP machines support at WHD told me this was a bug and would be fixed in the next release. I'm having the same issue, its only discovering my servers.
-
One note on this issue - we do have a Reports Troubleshooting Guide that you may want to check out - http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/lem/docs/LEMReportsTroubleshootingGuide.pdf (PDF) or SolarWinds Log & Event Manager Reports Troubleshooting Guide (HTML).

I checked our request list and we haven't seen this one yet. That just means nobody's requested it, not necessarily that nobody wants it Depending on the logging format you might be able to use one of our other connectors - several proxies log via the Squid Access Log format, for example, which we DO support. If you aren't…

Orion 8.1 is still using the Orion server time.

Not sure what you mean by "re-open the post"? Can you explain your problem? If there's another post with a similar problem, you can link to it.

Log on through console and enable local support (I use HP iLo). Ctrl+f1 will bring you to the console. 1) log on as root 2) vi /etc/vmware/snmp.conf 3) change false to true 4) set between <communitie></communitie> the community name like: <communitie>public</communitie> 5) Save the file 6) Restart management agents and it…

Here's another approach at this answer. I don't think people here are aware of this feature - it's something within Windows where you can have Windows systems actually forward Event Logs to a central Windows Server, which would then be running the agent. It's kind of like doing agent less collection without SolarWinds…

Hey John, If you use the Remote Agent Installer you should be able to choose a directory. You can do this to install locally, just specify your own machine name in a text file and feed it to the installer when it requests it.

hi d_w_k have you sorted your issue yet? i am trying to do the same. i cant find any option for o2 or anything similiar for UK carriers

I had to learn this the hard way too - VMware stripped nearly all of the SNMP functionality out of ESX and ESXi 4.0 release. If you look on page 62 of the NPM admin guide: http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/Orion/docs/OrionNPMAdministratorGuide.pdf you'll see that the latest release of NPM uses SNMP only for volumes…

This SP installed fine on the primary server, but seemed to install way too fast on the Hot standby server. After looking at the hot standby configuration the primary server shows SP3 installed however the Hot Standby is still reporting SP2. Has anyone else seen this issue with SP3 yet, or have any ideas why it does not…

If they're windows boxes, make sure they are configured to allow your NPM box to query them. That caught me a few times. I've reset them all to allow SNMP queries from all systems.
-
These are good suggestions. Thanks.

After seeing the entire thread, applied the hotfix and it did correct the problem. Glad the Dev team was able to bring in the New Year on a happy note.
-
Yes, We are getting the same error. I opened a support case - hopefully it will be an easy fix. Happy New Year!
-
i asked for this previously but no joy yet.....

We've made this change in the code, and it'll be out in the next release.
