This behaviour is NOT normal. It indicates: - the installer of this old version was downloaded from a questionable/untrustworthy source and was bundled with malware or - one of the several vulnerabilites of an older version was exploited More information to Serv-U vulnerabilities: Serv-u : Products and vulnerabilities one…

The easiest way to do what you want is to take an existing report, filter it, and then save that as a custom report. In this case, I'd use the "Console - Overview" report. * Select the Console - Overview report in the list * Click Run and pick a sample date range (can be short, but ideally would have severity 5+ things in…

Can we get more detail about what you're hoping to do, or what problems you're hoping to solve that you can't today with syslog/SNMP in NPM (or Kiwi)? That would help better answer the question of whether LEM or future improvements to NPM/Kiwi are the answer. Thanks!

Sorta old thread but I wanted to throw in my two cents worth: the new community is awful. For somebody who doesn't have time to "get the hang of a few things" I find it very frustrating to navigate. I started a discussion in Getting Started on how to turn off the annoying thwack update emails and I can't even find my…

To elaborate I attach an SQL report: SELECT TOP 10000 Nodes.MachineType AS Machine_Type, Nodes.Region AS Region, Nodes.NetworkName AS NetworkName, Nodes.SPID AS SPID, Nodes.Caption AS NodeName, Nodes.IOSVersion AS IOS_Version, CustomNodePollers_CustomPollers.UniqueName AS Poller_Name,…

Other than go back through all my alerts and add the sending of a syslog message

Custom MIB support was added last December in 8.0. There is no way to do it in 7.8.5. Sorry.

Hi there sk3l3t0r, The way I created my Node Groups is through the NCM program on the server itself (not on the web console). Rather than having "!Unknown" in the node group details, I like to group my network devices by Physical Location, so when I go to Config Management on the web console, I see this: This list was…

If you're using the latest release, this is included in the Health Monitoring, provided the SNMP view configured on your 6500 allows those OIDs to be polled. It will be on a tabbed graph with the Power Supply details on the Node Detail Summary page. If you want to check, import this poller and test against your 6500:…

You can do exactly what you describe with the Advanced Alert engine, but not with basic alerts.

If it's unmanaged, you should see a blue circle with an x. Are you not seeing that? Can you post an image of what you're seeing?
-
It's something we've discussed, and plan to implement something, but it's not as urgent as a a few other big features.

You don't need to monitor the loopback adapter. Go into "list resources" and uncheck that. I assume you are able to ping the printer from your Orion server? I believe some HP printers have the abilty to turn off ICMP echo, so SNMP may still work for you, but ICMP fails.
-
Is there any plan to move forward with this product to keep up with the Orion functionality? What specifically are you looking for? It seems that this software is always behind as far as implementation It'll probably always be a little bit behind Orion because EOC needs to wait to see how the Orion functionality pans out…

That's the SP level of Windows, not Orion. You are using Windows 2003 SP1. The Orion SP level is not reflected there.

Before staff leave they should have to write something on here to say why they are leaving, that would give us all confidence that they have not been kidnapped by bears and dragged off into the woods to be eaten. It would also make sure that Solarwinds treats its staff nicely.

NTA is designed to show only inbound traffic. The expectation is that users will monitor all interfaces, thereby capturing all of the traffic moving across the router.

@wldcu - did the configuration change resolve the issue reported with nDepth search and have you had another occurrence of the issue since the change has been applied? @nicole pauls - I also have experienced this issue, on my own system and at other sites on a fresh deployment of the appliance that morning. In both…

So, there's two ways this happens: 1. Randomly - different searches at different times cause the error to occur, and all searches after you get the error fail. In this situation, restarting the manager (SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: Search Ended Prematurely) should resolve the problem. It may still reoccur, on different…

Mark, Can you provide a sample report or query that you are using? I have done something similar for nodes but need to see what you are looking for to see if I can adapt it.

I don't argue your basic position, since you're right and make a perfectly valid point, but I'd point out that less than 5 minutes of downtime is quite possible, given the right conditions. I spent ten years working for Tandem Computers (now HP NonStop) and I can attest to more than one production system that had less than…

We are aware of this problem, and will fix it in a future release. Until then, here's the workaround Execute External Program has a problem: if the command does not start with a double quote character ("), then the engine will wrap the whole thing, parameters and all, in double quotes before executing it. To prevent this,…

I have close to 10,000 elements currently on my polling engine and I would say performance is acceptable. Currently I have my web front end on a different server than the database which is highly recommended. But it also make a difference on what kind of hardware you are using. Physical servers? Virtualized with a SAN…

It looks to us like your router might be sending bad packets. You could open a ticket, but you might check the router. For a comparison, download Engineer's Toolset and see if you can see the data from your router in the NetFlow Realtime tool.

Perhaps you are thinking about custom properties? During the two years of work with npm did not find such an opportunity. What you describe is very similar to the procedure for mass editing custom properties. Look at the picture below.

Now I've realized our issue revolves around Office 2010 and IE not playing nice nice with attachments in WHD.
-
I knew all that beforehand, but there's been a lot a strange things goings on with WHD and IE for us. I think things will get better, but for now... And I get some kind of 'right click' with IE, to add notes, save & email a ticket. That's kinda nice.
