You could enable netflow on the internet router interface and use solar winds to collect the netflow data. You can then see all conversations going in and out of the internet.

ping: Network_Guru would you please contact me at hodgesw@mchsi.com I would like to ask you a question or two about your experiences with Orion. I appreciate your reading this message. Walt Hodges 515-557-7315

Ok, currently, Orion and all nodes are on an server in a Windows Domain A (production), we backed up the database from an SQL server in Domain A and restored it to an SQL server in Domain B (test). So we are doing test to see if everything will be alright when migration will occur. Currently, we do not want to change…

you would need to set a second alert if you want it to trigger at 100% also as for us i have the alert repeat through the escallation every hour on the system disks. would not have helped you with the ten minute max out but you would have found out it was at 100% at the 1 hour escallation of it breaking your 90% threshold.

Can you show how to do this curl example with the arguments in-line as opposed to being call from an external text file? I've been struggling with syntax here: C:\Users\dcadmin>curl -v -k -u admin:XXXXX -X POST -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d "N:55"…

That's not possible. How long are you retaining Syslog messages? You can go into the Syslog Viewer and under File > Settings... you can set the number of days to keep those messages. Lowering that number might help.

A few folks around the SolarWinds office have them, and they've been able to get it.
-
Have you tried Tickets>Options>Enable ticket e-mail override? You may also need to uncheck the settings for 'default settings for email groups' in the same menu.
-
+1 for this.

Michael, This sounds like a great feature request you should post. The only "workaround" you might be able to do (not ideal) would be to create a 'Survey' that only had the outbound email and no links or anything else. Once you get all of the clients in the same view, you could send the new 'survey' to them all at once.…

You have to use a VPN technology that supports netflow on the router. Virtual Tunnel Interfaces is the one we use on CISCO 2900/1900 running v15 whatever IOS. We use routers at both ends, no ASA for these. You'll have to verify if the IOS you run supports VTI and if the ASA can also use VTI. Same for any other methods that…

Figured it out. Actually, I only had to change the CP Device_Type values which slightly differed in NPM. The NCM_Nodes table was changed from a table to a view.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am aware of all the available reports. I guess I was looking for information on which of the available reports are actually being scheduled by customers.
-
Are you using Basic or Advanced alerts? In either case, alert s are on/off affairs. If it goes on during business hours, it will stay on until you get to a Reset condition. It won't create a new alert after hours.

I hate to bump this but I think it might have been buried. Does anyone else have this issue?

This has been logged as a Feature Request. I agree that it would be a very cool Feature. You can import the IPs with a "Seed File" but that won't import anything else. It might be worth checking this post also:

( Must contain regex description DS[13] and must contain regex description DS[13].*\n(.*\n)*.*ip verify unicast reverse-path ) Or must not contain regex description DS[13] You should shouldn't really use (.*\n)* as that matches so many things, you can't exactly account for it. But the above will work although there are…

I think this is working as designed.
-
Nobody has any idea how to set the credential set of a node, via the rest api ?
-
Unfortunately, that's not possible. We'll take it as a feature request.
-
Absolutely, a great idea, Ian! Being able to search on interfaces would be great! I'd like to be able to select all my ATM or all my frame interfaces.
-
We are wondering the same question - hoping we can use another proxy method such as UAG or F5 tools to proxy this rather than using the built-in services. @fcpsolaradmin did you ever receive a response to your question outside of this forum? Thanks
-
I think you might to check out the Application Performance Monitor module.

With NPM, if you can get that value into a MIB, you can use the Universal Device Poller to read that MIB. If you own APM, you could write a script to get that value and use a gauge in APM.

Additional: I'm seeing my SolarWindsOrion_FG4 file balloon to seemlingly ridiculous sizes compared with the original database I'm upgrading from. eg. under NetFlow v3.0 regime, my current Solarwinds Orion Database is around 23GB. At the time of writing this post, l'm running NetFlow v3.1 setup, the install is still…
-
Yes. Shortly after I did the upgrade I got a completion message however our NetFlow usage is low and I only have one source currently per network.
-
Never mind, see the reports refresh once in a while. Shoud work OK for me. BUT, how can I make a short cut to the report to stick in the views bar up top?
-
Does anyone feel my pain?

Please open a Support ticket with this information. Please include diagnostics. That's the process for getting the problem diagnosed. If it's a bug, it'll get to the product team.
