So, you all knew this was coming, but I'll say it anyway... building your own connectors is not currently supported and can cause problems with both existing connectors and your new connectors (and your agent performance, and....). If you do this, please do not reuse readerNames and IDs that are in use from existing…

I'm sorry to say that sorting in a specific order is not an option at this time. We'll take it as a feature request.

I set up my alerts using custom properties fairly heavily. For example, I would create a custom property called "Server Type" or something of that nature, and then configure my exchange servers to be of type "Exchange". Then when you create the alert you can only have it trigger if the node is down and is of the server…

Please enable, at the least, options to choose state inheritance behavior for maps. As mentioned in a reply to another post about this issue, we will make it configurable in an upcoming SP.

Last week have installed 15.1.2.189 on product environment and have the same problem with version 15.1.2.189. In June ago have tested version 15.1.1.108 and all worked fine. With option "User must change password at next login " user see error, but without this option user can change his password after he logged in.

check on the orion server itself if there is a database maintenance process running.... it kicks off every night and there is a bug that means it never ends...

So, to be clear, you'd like to be able to grant access down to specific monitor types? Or do you want to allow non-admins to be able to manage any template?

From log files, I have the following messages, maybe it can help to answer: -NPM.BusinessLayer.log: System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException: There was no endpoint listening at net.pipe://localhost/solarwinds/jobengine/scheduler that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP…

The above posts resulted in a KB article: "How to migrate a local Patch Manager database to a remote SQL server" http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/4009/

I have tried updating this manually (I only have a couple of devices I need to change) and it doesnt work. I have deleted the nodename out and clicked Apply Changes, and it then sits on "Communicating to 10.x.x.x ..." and it just sits there.. Any ideas?

I have resolved the issue * Turn off NetBios over TCP/IP on each NIC * Disabled NetBios monitoring in NTA (SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer) Main Culprit

To install nodes for servers, install the LEM agent and connect it to your LEM appliance. You can configure and manage the nodes from Manage > Nodes (including configuring different product integration connectors). Once they connect, they should appear in Manage > Nodes automatically, and Windows systems by default will be…

Also, all rules are disabled...

Yeah I found the same. I went to the following directory: c:\Program Files\Solarwinds\Orion\Maps\Vendors (assuming c drive is your install drive) I copied 2334.gif to C:\Inetpub\SolarWinds\NetPerfMon\images\Vendors All good now. -Pete

Can someone from SW respond why the diff please? What happened to the old resources? Is it possible to replace the default Wireless view with a custom view? Our NOC doesn't like it at all.

There are some OPSEC session errors where the connector is supposed to automatically reconnect. If this isn't what you're seeing, I'd file a support request/bug report, because it's not supposed to fail like that. (For example, if you reboot the management station/firewall, the connector does disconnect, but then it enters…

It depends on what the SAN publishes in its MIBs. If it exposes performance data, NPM can poll it. In 8.x, it couldn't poll data stored in a MIB table, but in 9.0, it will be able to do that.

We'll take a quick look - you may need to provide a full log sample and/or Tool Maintenance Detail Report so we can figure out what's wrong. Sometimes it's as simple as underscores in the data that were unexpected, sometimes it's new messages that we haven't seen before. If you already filed a support case let me know the…

Good suggestion. Thanks!

Good suggestion. It's something we have on our already, but I'll add your name.

We don't have any way to send an advanced alert based on the failure of a basic alert. They weren't designed to be mutually dependent in that way.
-
Feel free to submit a feature request on this one. Also, if you have some ideas of better generic text (or text pulled from the data - like the name of the search and the time it ran?) that might be a good stopgap suggestion and I can look into it.

I worked with technical support yesterday which included a "repair" of 9.5 and adding SP1. We experienced the same issue beginning again at 3:45 this morning. Kind of frustrating

Just wanted to let you know you aren't alone. I have seen this on different servers running 9.1 and 9.5. I also see it when I kick off something as simple as the Service Manager. I have yet to figure out what causes it or a fix. I usually just click on 'Don't send' and it let's me work.

I have seen this problem on at least 2 of my sites. I have around 10-12 orion installs, and 2 of them have shown this problem over the last 12 months. the fact that it was so random meant that i did not log it out with solarwinds. i have considered restarting the alerting service each night but not sure that is…

A few questions: * What version of Windows/AD is the DC? * How many groups should be shown in these OUs? * Any security restrictions on the user LEM is using? Size is the most likely culprit but we want to be sure.
