Hi, All events are captured in the in Orion webconsole, only email alert missing (except packet loss alerts). However no issues in recently added nodes (both SNMP & WMI).

Hi jonathan.reeve, could you also please send me the "root" password for the SolarWinds Virtual Manager Appliance as well.? I'm just finished installing the VM (Virtualization Manager v4.0 Virtual Appliance for vCenter 2.5), which looked to me that it has a built-in Red Hat Enterprise Linux O/S 5 in it; and I need to…

Same issue here. Maybe you could send it to me as well?

Thanks Dave. Unfortunately we are mostly layer 2 here. So the query doesn't work because the switches don't have a lot of ARP entries. Our forwarding table has plenty of L2 addresses without L3 addresses. Thanks again!

I'm not sure what the bug is, but I just created a 'Custom Node Poller' alert and was able to get the value. In this case, I just set up a poller to get data from ifNumber and set the alert to trigger if the value was greater than 3. Here's my trigger condition: "Numeric Status is greater than 3" I created a NetPerfMon…

Hi, Thank you for your quick response but I believe you may have misunderstood my question. I am looking to hide custom ticket status from certain groups. For example Only "Tech Group" A would be able to see & use custom ticket status "Re-Opened".

Would AD work for you? Yes (AD) and Windows pass through would work too. Is AD authentication in v9.3?

Thanks for the detailed explanation.

I've seen that post and don’t believe it's the same thing. The Demo link is animated and the post on the live weather map is a still image that downloads and refreshes every 15 or 30 minutes. Can anyone at solarwinds confirm or clarify? Thanks

The one that jspanitz posted above and attached a file for works well for me, but I can't get it to save for some reason, comes up with an error for NodeID. So as far as I can tell, I can only run it on the server itself and not save the report so it can be accessed form the web. I know I'm missing something but I'm not…

To clarify - using DetectionIP will match for the machine where the logs are being generated. Caveats: * If you're monitoring domain controllers, you will see logons constantly from many different users and this rule may fire false positives. * If you're monitoring servers and systems directly, this rule will work as…

Like I stated in my post. I like the detailed view and I really think that the browse of data helps a lot. Oh because I have several ESXi servers I use ESX as a filter to get everything about all the ESX servers. BUT…. What I really wanted is a list of rules, on ESXi servers, to alert on. Filters to find errors or alerts…

Thanks for the help! Putting the keyword in quotes has the desired effect of only finding the specific events desired. RPC works where WMI does not. Those things were all tried before but failed. What ended up making it work was removing the Source specification from the template config. Once I blanked out the source…

Thanks for your reply. According to the Red Hat documentation on SNMPv3 configuration, after creating a v3 user and specifying the encryption and authentication protocols, modifying the snmpd.conf file as follows would be enough to grant access to all available MIBs: directive user [noauth|auth|priv] [OID] "rwuser admin…

Thanks for the idea, but that's how I originally had it configured. I removed the quotes because I thought it was being too restrictive in the search. I have tried various permutations. I even tried telling it to search in all event logs for event ID 102 with TaskScheduler as the source and removed the keyword search…

Do you have a photo with sufficient distance to obscure anything private? I'm sure we'd all like to see.

Thanks Bedrich for clarifying

Yeah. I knew about the setting for alerts which is great. However we have alot of people that can view the website and we don't want little spikes in APM monitors or Node Monitors that only occur during one poll to cause the maps to go red or yellow. So the ability to smooth out those spikes would really be a big help.…

No not yet?

Thanks for the insight, Richard. I checked and after 24+ hours, I still have the sample image, unfortunately. I'm pushing for an update to v12. Just need to get business signoff on the update and time. Hopefully we will update soon.

Do you have a set of commands that we need to configure in huawei device so that we can monitor its traffic to NTA? We try to add a huawei device but unfortunately we don't see any traffic. Thanks!

We copy the installation file and the batch file to the local hard drive before they are executed.

I gave it a try using a local Admin account and it throws the following error. I'm assuming SWIS is the "SolarWinds Orion Information Service v1" service which is Running. Any ideas what is the problem? ************** Exception Text ************** System.ApplicationException: No SWIS proxy layer available. at…

Thanks for the clarification.

Can you please update the MIBS for HP Lefthand SAN. The current version of the database does not support any of the clustering MIBS as of San/IQ v9. Thanks George
-
Not yet. Of course this issue was overcome by other events so I haven't had time to get back to it. Sorry
-
Doesn't look like it. The file it's spitting out is pretty noisy but if I search by "OS" i'm not seeing anything related to OS version.

APM 3.0 has a simple SNMP OID monitor

The extreme switches don't work with that activity - returning an error. As a result you have to use the device.cli.send activity - which results in my problem...

Dang! You are a genius! Problem solved. Thanks!
