The plan is to add support for Windows and AD groups.

Oh this is fun, after a large number of refreshes everything is showing fine. I don't know the number of times I refreshed, it was a lot as I kept trying different browsers and then it was fine and is staying. Not a clue what is going on. When/If this problems happens again I'll try out what you suggested. Thanks!

It should play the first time it's seen in a given browser. Have you checked the sound file? Will it play if you just click on it?

I am.

Happens in mulitple browers, IE, Chrome, and Firefox. I'll update the display drivers to see if that's it.

Mark, I watched the tutorial you recommended. I'm not sure that this quite covered what I'm trying to do. I added a custom property to Interfaces called MAC. It appears that this field isn't automatically filled-in, so I would need to manually enter the data into the fields. (Not something I look forward to doing.) I also…

Thank you

Thanks, that'll help for Windows nodes, but I also have to worry about Linux nodes, too.

On a side note, when you generate a pdf from the report, it adds extra space into the pdf and the report is all over the place again.
-
That has worked a treat, wouldn't it be much better if they could just allow users to resize the report and separate the report into a table format.

Thanks Marie! If it will help I send the request on the back of a $23 dollar bill........

Yes it would be nice to get something beyond the stuff above. Some of these monitors are really not very useful. So I was wondering if there was something out there or if there was someone out there that might have additional examples of monitors? - any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks Carl

I leave public only. In the field i need put my windows authentication?

I just thought it was strange that this wasn't listed in the Anti-Virus section in the Administrator Guides. Have you implemented these changes ? If you did, did you notice any performance improvements ? The Knowledge Base Article doesn't mention what security permissions to give each account. Does anyone know or done this…

Jonathan is correct, we pull SysObjectId and use this value to look into a database we maintain. Most likely, that Polycom unit is running linux underneath, and it's configured to return the SysObjectId for net-snmp, which it's using as it's SNMP provider. Some vendors change this to be their own SysObjectId, a lot don't.…

I've been playing around using the VIPerlToolKit to report on datastore usage (can be downloaded from sourceforge, and used with activeperl). The following scriptscript expects 3-4 parameters, Server Username Password DataStoreName Index (optional, starts at 0). You can specify the datastore via the name, or via the index…

With the purchase of Tek-Tools is it possible you will be offering their viritualization monitoring product as a stop gap measure to customers on active maintenance until you can finally finish building in the functionality? I've seen the beta and its nice but its not a GA release yet and until it is we cannot monitor some…

I solved this problem a bit later; after having a poke around i found the 'User Experience Monitor' So i created a template and added the 'DNS User Experience Monitor' to the template which i set up to do a look up on an address i expect to find (I used my solarwinds box ) and the address to the expected responce. Problem…

tdanner, thanks for catching that. Totally took this bit of code at face value.... <<face plant>>

Tony: Thank you so much! This definitely helps. Diane

Will do, thank you.

Hi gavinross98, Would you mind posting here the ticket number? Thanks!

We have a fix for this problem. This is a replacement file, so you must rename the original to .old or move the old file, and then drop the new file into the c:\inetpub\solarwinds directory. Then remove the __ from the end of the new file. ftp.solarwinds.net/.../AsyncNetFlowHotfix.zip Denny LeCompte Sr. Product Manager,…

Yes, at some point after we installed NTA I see the DNS resolution to 'persistent'. Maybe I'll try setting it to 'on demand' and see if that makes a difference.

aLTeReGo, thanks for the advice, I will try that. I have tried different combinations in the keywords/regular expression options and have been using quotes around strings, so I will give that one a shot. Eventually the right combination should work. I do have a powershell script that works (when run directly against a DC)…

I think you're making some assumptions that are not necessarily true. We would never rewrite anything just to make it cooler. I know that there are engineering teams that do that sort of thing, but that's just not our thing. Cool technology that doesn't solve customer problems is dead end. We don't always get it right, but…

Thank you. I believe I have the information I need.

tdanner wrote: A read operation on "swis://solarwinds/Orion/Orion.Nodes/NodeID=180/CustomProperties" is still only returning one object, a holder for the custom properties for one node. What you are asking for makes sense, but it is not supported by SWIS CRUD operations today. You will have to use a query for this. Is…

i agree this is too easy make a access list and make it so only the IP from your server can access SNMP. we do this on all devices even the ones inside the network so that no one can stand up a different server and pull information or if you use read/write make changes on your devices.

Creating maps on the web sounds a lot better than it actually is. We looked at it long and hard, and the technology isn't there to provide the same level of functionality that Map Maker provides. Instead, we are going to provide a much improved version of map maker. Better usability and the ability to show module data and…
