Yes, we did receive the necessary amount of references, and we thank you all for this. You guys are awesome!

Agree completely. The way Orion handles the DB is quite simply a joke. The traps and syslog tables being the worst. I'm in the position where I have to do a DB backup (or dump to another table) and truncate every few weeks just so the product is usable and I maintain history for audit (i.e. PCI) purposes.

mikegale jeremymayfield the questions is closed temporarily. Once we get a confirmation regarding the hint, you'll be able to give it a shot.

"...for features that could have a dramatic effect on an existing installation I would suggest it become an option to enable during the upgrade vs forced upon us - especially if there's no simple way to disable that feature." I hear you. Could use a vote here.

Okay just downloaded the evaluation for SAM and its only version 6.2.4 so I cannot see the perfstack, is there any way to upgrade while still on eval?
-
I second this feature request

Like the topic. I plan on using free SW IPAM before purchasing the full product. This is definitely a worthwhile project for any size business to deploy even if only 1 DNS/DHCP.

I didn't attend the session with but there's definitely digging into lower level activity (whether it's file, process, or network) that can indicate there's issues - either with people on the inside, or attack activity from the outside. Protecting data/access to data, preventing outages/downtime due to security issues, and…

We have a fairly large solarwinds deployment, and I think it's really invaluable to our mission as a healthcare organization. Having a tool that monitors our infrastructure lets us know of an issue before the helpdesk even gets a call. Often times, we are able to resolve a potential problem before any users are impacted.…

Same for me, I think I'm all set... but would love a confirmation. Thanks Danielle! Brandon

That's ok. I figured that will happen

Guys does someone know what about the question 3?, could someone asnwer it?, I can not see the options to asnwers, has someone solve it or asnwer it? Thanks.

zachone92, points are awarded once the mission has closed.

Besides what Danielle already mentioned, we can also see if one's first attempt was correct or not. We know everything!

Ah, the age old IT debate... So many problems start elsewhere but migrate their way to the network team because either the server or applications team couldn't figure out the problem. Once it arrives on my desk, I toss in a bit of wireshark/observer here and a bit of common sense there and generally find the issue is…

I've done mine

Oh well, that's a shame. However looking forward to the point that it does land in a release.

I know so many organisations that have multiple applications that do the same thing, usually it's because they don't have the expertise to know that the applications do the same thing. Education is critical.

I tried the idea that designerfx suggested. I am sorry to say that I could not get it to work. It either ignored the end of the URL or errored out as not recognizing it. So my quest for CVS or Excel output goes on.

Quick update: points and badges were added to your profiles. As usual, feel free to drop me a message if you have any complains. Have a great weekend everyone!
-
No worries! This happened because I closed the question for a short while to try to fix it. Now it works again. You should be able to answer.
-
Cool. Good luck!

Manilyn Ramos, points were awarded on September 21st and everyone who completed the survey received those. I can confirm that you also received the points.

Workaround: Use the nslookup explorer. First, designate an agent for your lookups (manage > appliances > settings > explorer command agent). Then, in nDepth (or filters), you can select a data element, go to "Explore" and hit "nslookup" to open the nslookup explorer. Questions for anyone interested: Do you need this data…

We only included additional hints for questions requiring you to go to the LEM demo. For the rest, the answers are in the hints, you just need to look a bit closer.
-
Same as us, I did a feature request for this. This request is pretty critical for large enterprise customers
-
Im actually so surprised that's not a default and not even an option currently. This is definitely needed. M

What a great idea. Maybe we can move some of our slack conversations onto THWACK instead.

We like to differentiate from Cisco Packet Tracer on a number of fronts. I've used Packet Tracer and was a member of the Cisco Academy in 2009. The evaluation process was for a school I worked for. The instructor wanted to know from an experienced technician, how hard it would be for students to master basic tenants of…

I 100% agree, although I'm sure many of us have our eye on that prize. lol. It would make for a lovely Christmas gift for . . . well . . . myself hahahaha.
