Using a custom property for the email address(es) of the responsible person(s) is a possibility. But I also like to send SMS. And my interface to the SMS gateway is an URL containing the message and the mobile number. So I have to create an alarm for every alarm type / person combination. Of course, I could use a custom…

OK, thanks.

Thanks very much David - I wasn't looking hard enough!

Here is another feature request for the Hot-Standby poller. HS poller should be in the state to assume polling immediately upon a primary poller failure (i.e., takeover timer threshold reached). Today, upon detecting a primary poller failure, it takes several minutes to ramp up (read into memory the db) before the HS…

All, what version of Orion?

I should have asked this earlier, are your collectors on the same subnet as the Solarwinds and Netflow database servers? Or are they spread out. The network team asked me to have regional F5's and Netflow collectors if possible to reduce traffic across the WAN. ie for West coast have a Netflow collector with F5 ie for…

Nicole, Thanks for responding. I am new to LEM and getting to grips with its features. I am curious if it is possible to filter out these events through the appliance policy, like the kb article instructs for Windows noise events in this link? http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/2834/__fav This policy wouldbe…

I am running the latest version of both. What do I need to do in Safari to get it to work?
-
Thanks! It's good to get confirmation that this works. I'm going to fill out the design docs and put in a request for a load balancer ASAP. I was thinking about this when moved out Solarinds installation to new servers/ip's a few months ago. It definitely makes server changes easier as well.

Yes, they did have values: ifXTable (OID: 1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1). Open MIB Browser gadget (in SNMP Tools folder in Workspace Studio) and read the two tables from the device. Check for columns ifInOctets or if OutOctets (ifHCInOctets and ifHCOutOctets respectively) I'll call support then

Bump. I'm having the same issue with a custom sql report. Runs fine in the report viewer, runs fine on the web as admin, but bombs out with a limited account. All the devices being spit back in the report, this account should have access to. Any ideas where I should start looking? Thanks!

have you managed to get information on the hardware health through custom pollers?

We have Cisco Mars implemented in our environment and frequently root out peer to peer and other spyware type activity. While the product is a powerful correlation tool, something its not is... user friendly..

Below is what appears in the application log after attaching the device. Nothing appears on the monitor in the console. USB Device Attached Device ID: USB\VID_18D1&PID_4E12\HT012P804191 Serial number: HT012P804191 Device name: \\?\usb#vid_18d1&pid_4e12#ht012p804191#{a5dcbf10-6530-11d2-901f-00c04fb951ed} Device path:…

Yes I did a few months ago, but they were the built in ones.

Yes, yes and, yes. Trying again though.

We're only on SP2 with APM, and it does not fix the issue. The issue is that there are some SQL queries causing churn on servers with limited resources.
-
I'll give it a shot.
-
I had tried the first one before. I just tried the other one today. When I set it up in a MIB poller, It returns "The OID is not supported".
-
Ah OK, thank you, The current work around I have been using is by using the account limitation builder to add a limitation, which has the same criteria as the dynamic query used to construct the group (a custom property).
-
This is how they show up in APM.
-
Any additional update on that ? Our clients , using NPM v10, are asking the way how IPv6 can be supported
-
Rob, There's nothing obvious. Open a ticket and we'll look at it. Be sure to reference this thread.

Are the lines a problem?

Mav, I assumed NPM 10.2.1 is for NPM 10.2. Anyway, thanks for chiming in. My case is 313251. Thanks!

Thank you for your reply. I'm using NetFlow version 9 and my switch is Cisco Nexus 1000V. I know that the switch is capable and set to collect the fields you mentioned. I just want to know how I can view the values of these fields through the NPM web interface. I'm afraid I can't use anything else apart from NetFlow to…

Thought I would post the resolution so others can learn from my mistakes.... First - "NEVER TOUCH THE DATABASE DIRECTLY!!!!" The problem was self generated when I had added a CP to my Orion last week and thought I gave it the wrong data type. I "fixed" the data type by going into the database and 'adjusting' the data type…

For suppression of downstream devices, you'll need to set up custom properties for each alert to describe what is downstream.

From Orion we send email trigger actions to BMC with P1, P2 or P3 in the subject line, then using BMC business rules we create incidents and send those incidents dependant upon P1, P2 or P3 to correct BMC department/group queue. Not much as way of integration but it works ok for us. Dave

Hey John, When that happens, do you still see alerts being processed in your console (if you stay logged in), or receive notifications if you've got them set up? A wild stab could be a resource issue, where the LEM appliance needs to be assigned different fixed resources. You might check with support and see if they can…
