Magic!!

Ohh, I see what you're talking about. By default the NodeName field has a Web URL listed under the Field Formatting tab in the Report Writer, however in the report viewer on my home page, it will not allow me to click on the NodeName and take me to that URL.
-
If I did it that way how would I make it dynamic? So that each time I run the report and the nodes change it still takes me to the correct Node Details page?
-
Unfortunately that is not the case for me. Say a port or node goes down. I have both a Basic and Advanced Alert set to trigger but the alert is only showing up in the Advanced Alert tab when triggers. Mind you, I'm running the 30 day eval.
-
Well, i couldn't find where the version number is written. I am trying to install NTA 3.0 . NPM version is 9.5 EDIT: Also, i've searched the forum and found other users are checking some installation logs. Can you tell me where these logs are located?
-
Yes, only speaking to what the DOC says. Glad I stopped changing routers after the first dozen or so. "The IP address the device uses to send messages must be the same IP address used to manage the device in Orion Network Configuration Manager?" Page 48 of the admin guide.
-
We do intend to add more options to "has changed" in the advanced alert engine.
-
Hey Bob Ross :) no nothing with wscript process. It looks like there is max of (IE) sessions allowd on the system and than it stops creating a new session. I will play around with the polling intervall maybe that helps a bit.
-
Thank you very much for the info. We were just not sure what the "correct" numbers should be. We will probably move CLEAN_DAYS_OF_DETAIL down to 20 so we do not have to build another machine. We use some old data but normally not detailed after about a week.

Orion NPM 10.1.x

Thanks very much for your answer! That is an ingenious solution to the problem! I will start creating some custom properties for this. Do the product group have a non-workaround way of doing this? Is it in the pipleine where we could set thresholds on each server in the web console? Thanks! Chris.
-
The "has changed" operator will not work in this case.
-
Thanks. It's something we'll consider for the future.

I'm fairly certain that my Cisco config is correct, and when I test the config by creating a VLAN, I see the SNMP trap counter increment (meaning that traps are being sent, I assume). I also went into the server and verified that the SNMP trap service was running, but when I click on TrapViewer I just get a blank page. NCM…

Your welcome tdanner. Thanks for the reply, I'll raise a feature request via support (and also as a feature request here on Thwack) tomorrow.
-
They are still in NPM but were never removed. Yes, we use NCM and they are integrated.

We also are currently running two different networks. The one that is having problems is our second network that is running Orion Core Services version 2010.2.1. How do I upgrade the Orion Core Services. I just recently replaced a person that has already left, leaving me with this to fix. We tried removing all of the…

petrf: Thank you for your reply. The concern I have regarding that solution (a custom view) is that I would need a custom view for every Node that is setup like this. That could result in building hundreds of custom views for my scenario. Is there a limitation, or reduction in performance when I get to that many views that…

I am not seeing where to remove interfaces from a Node. I went to the device page, the selected "List Resources" and chose "None", and I still have two interfaces listed. One is valid, the other is not. I have tried rediscovering and polling after making the changes and they do not go away.
-
Any plans to expand and make trap messages better would be very nice. Can you elaborate on what you'd like to see?
-
a) yes, the connector determines that b) I'd call this a bug and request for it to be fixed

Hi shaulis, I finally got around to try this out. I executed to above statement(s) on the Ignite repository and it ran successfully. Then I tried to execute the stored procedure per example: EXEC TopSQLforMSSQLMachine '2014-12-23 00:00','2014-12-30 00:00','MyMachineName' and I tried: EXEC TopSQLforMSSQLMachine '2014-01-01…

Thanks. So any idea what kernel works with which snpmd with which toolset version? Obviously the snmpd version works with solarwinds, same package on both boxes. But the kernel version of the failing box is newer. Can't roll it back, but I can jump up another rev... ugh.
-
We have 4000 elements and the current SQL is on a separate box running 2005 and that's pretty beefy. Jase
-
The net-snmp version is the same, 5.1.2-11. I've found the one difference on the two boxes, one has kernel 2.6.9-42.0.0.1.ELsmp (working), the other is 2.6.9-5.ELsmp (not working). When you say "agent", is there a SolarWinds agent I should install?
-
wbrown, That worked! Thank you, thank you, thank you! That saved me a ton of time.
-
NetFlow Settings are all done on the web console under the Admin menu item. On the left-hand column, you'll see "NTA Settings". You can also get there by clicking the "NetFlow Settings" button on the NetFlow Summary page. There is no setting UI in System Manager.
-
....consider upgrading to 9.0.
-
Thank you, it's good to know. Then for the time being deleting records from repository seems to be the only option.
-
Well, I'd still like to know what caused the issue, but a server reboot seems to have cleared the error....
