Orion pulls its info from the Host Resources MIB, and this is how it reports that data. In Orion APM, we're able to separate the data. Also, if you can find another MIB for your device that separates the two types of memory, then you can use the Universal Device Poller to get that information for alerts.
-
We'll consider that for a future release.
-
Should be up on the portal tomorrow (if not today).
-
Hi Anjan, I do this all the time, the easiest way to do it, is go to your active alerts window and just click on the Acknowledge time filter at the top of active alerts and it will sort the acknowledge time of the alerts for you. There is also the "All Active Alerts" report that you can easily configure to sort by…

There isn't, but we'll get something up one way or another (a blog or doc or KB). In the meantime, If this comes up again feel free to ask on Thwack and I'll dig up the answer. The reports are generally structured around "groups" of alert types, if you look at the tree version of the alert view. For example, the…

Sorry, I wouldn't know. I just started using this App and its already giving me a hard time. But I would check non-agent nodes and disconnected nodes to see if there are any duplicate IP addresses there. Clean those up. I don't even know how to edit that .conf file. I have to look into it. I have a question. May be you can…

Sorry, for taking so long to get back to everyone. Thanks netlogix and Larry for all your help steering me in the right direction. We ended up using the following statement which does the trick stripping off the sequence number and semi-colon.…

This is a good request, and it fits with the general goal of making things remote-able. Consequently, I think it'll happen. I wish I could tell you it's in the next release, but at the moment it's not. It's a candidate for the release after that.
-
Yeah, looks like ticket time
-
So I did as you told me and I did get alerted as expected. So this works
-
It's something we're looking into. In the meantime, qle has the best advice: Subscribe to SolarWinds Announcements. You'll learn about all releases, including service packs.
-
that is definitely the issue, you are seeing the command prompt do stuff and then exit without letting you see the error... it is actually failing do to a service being missing... jump to the suggested post (which is mind lol) and you will get the answer... i should be able to clock up a few answers on this issue :-) make…

I am not attempting to display the map in a customized page when you specify the size percentage. I am trying to display a map full page. If you have the default menu system, there's an option for All Maps which gives you thumbnails. When you click on one, it take over the whole window. There's no option to specify a size…

Awesome! Works fantastic. Thank you Yossarian! Now, if I could restrict the custom html resource to specific admins would be even more awesome. Do you know the code to do this?
-
Thanks for the kind words. The "OID is not supported" error won't come and go. If the OID is pollable or not. If an OID is supported, there is always data available, but that data might be "0". Now, it's possible that if the MIB is updated more often than you poll it, you might miss values. is that your concern?

Floyd, any chance this fix is on the radar? I saw that it wasn't in the 10.1.0.30 update... Follow-up: We have identified this particular issue as a bug and will do our best to address it in an upcoming release. As a workaround for this particular setup, you could use an Aggregate Interface in Workspace Studio to aggregate…
-
Does this help?
-
Thank you for your great customer support. I have it working now. For those wondering how to aggregate, just select more than one interface of a device and the "Create Aggregate Interface" option becomes available. It creates a sort of virtual interface that it monitors.
-
Can you repost? The software that runs Thwack has a bug such that if you use IE6 and no SP2 installed there are issues. Please use FireFox to post until we can get this patched.
-
Can we get some commentary on why this hotfix isn't making a difference for a lot of people in this thread?
-
I wasn't really looking at it from a fail over perspective as much as all the devices in your network are already in orion and these are the devices you would be using your toolset on to troubleshoot your network. So it just seems crazy/annoying to have to enter all those devices twice.
-
I agree with subscribing to the Announcements forum. "Fix the website to clearly state what the current patch level is!" * We did this in SP3. If you look at Orion 8.5.1 SP3, you can see the service pack level in the footer of the web console.* "SolarWinds Orion Network Performance Monitor 8.5.1 SP3 1995-2007 All Rights…

I've been able to manually recycle the worker process by ending the w3wp.exe process with task manager. It's slightly quicker than starting and stopping IIS completely.
-
No. I'm contemplating reinstalling my Orion completely. If you have time, please open a Support ticket and include Diagnostics. That's the only way we're likely to find the root cause.
-
Any ideas anyone? Seems like it should be possible I just can't work out how!
-
if it is fixed in 3.1 APM i will be a happy man, but i have already seen a few false positives, so i will have to do a few checks,... i am lucky enough to have SLX everything... but i have only just installed IPSLA, so I have not actually used it for anything yet... i am a Fluke response watch person historically
-
This is not possible at present.
-
OK. We'll consider that.
-
If you are having this problem, please open a Support ticket. We had one person with this problem on a URL monitor, and we found that the search string mis-matched the HTML source code, which was the source of the problem.
-
This is a new request. I'll consider it. In the meantime, could you just open two browser windows – one showing the current template contents, the other showing the browse wizard?
