We had some issues with wireless doing something like you describe, but those issues were fixed in older versions. This is a new issue. I'd suggest you open up a ticket with Support.

It looks like the top one is based on SNMP polling, not an actual calculation. So it noted it at the time it went down (I could be incorrect). The bottom report looks like a calculation.

Miron -- i wasn't trying to shut you down. I wouldn't want to do that. I'm mostly trying to nudge you into trying to pull you toward talking about the problems you want solved that we're not solving. And pulling you away from the specific implementation. So what problems do we need to solve?

Thanks. Yeah, I thought about uploading my avatar, but I wasn't too sure about the Thwack community yet. Now that I know that there are good people on here, I may have to do that. P.S. I didnt want to have a silly avatar with one post

There's a known issue relating to large numbers of monitors. We have a fix that's currently in test and should be out with SP1.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I will assure you that we have heard your issues. We are already prototyping some changes that we expect will dramatically improve performance on key tasks.

Just to be clear, we would never ship something where you didn't have control. Rather, it would be possible to set up a group of like pollers where a set of pollers would own a set of devices. And you would always have the option to keep it the way it is. Tie every node to a specific poller.

That makes sense.

No need to set up a transform. Open the "Advanced options" section and change your MIB Value Type to counter and the UnDP will automatically do it for you. Is there a reason you need such a short statistics polling interval? Such a short interval(over the default) will probably have a pretty hefty impact on the…

I just tried reproducing with my install, but had no luck. Does this happen on all the views? Only specific types? Is there anything in the custom HTML resource? It may be worthwhile to open a support ticket so we can get full diagnostics and see what's going on, but this is definitely something we've not seen with 10.2.

If you've already got your database separated, then we'd need to drill down on what's actually feeling slow. Is it every page? Or just certain pages? If it's the latter, detach each resource on the page (by clicking the resource title) and see how long each resource takes to load. That would pinpoint if a particular…

This is definitely possible as we EOL versions. We're generally more generous than we could be, but we rely on the EOL policy (which should give you 12-18 months to upgrade your agents) when we make decisions on phasing out old communication methods for new ones.

This is for a scheduled job, not adhoc on demand. How do I say delete all Configs older than 18 months in a monthly scheduled job without having to modify the job every month? Delete all except last XX doesn't suffice. External - ISO 27001, 27002 Internal - Legal Department.

Yes. The problem is that there is no ">" function. All I get is this: CustomProperty * actually high * The Custom Property is called High and can contain anything from 90 and above. I tried to get it to trigger using the above but it didn't. Ideally it should be high > 90

Make sure the SQL Browser Service is running on the remote server. This runs on UDP port 1434 so it may be blocked by internal firewalls. In any event you can type in the name of the remote SQL server (and instance) for example: MYSQLSERVER MYSQLSERVER\MYINSTANCE

Sweet. That's the great things about forums like this. Not always the exact answer you need, but an alternative perspective that gets you thinking in the right direction.

jlambo, it sounds like you had a similar, but not identical issue, but with the same symptom if your data was corrupted. For the instances I have witnessed this on, restarting the appliance allows the identical query to return results. If wldcu was given a configuration change from SW, it is likely that this fix may be…

Can this be added to a standard UnDP chart? Thanks

Hey Chris! I hope you are well!. The problem i have, is that my lovely NPM installation is being hammered by APM. Basically, i want to use APM to extend the availabiloity monitoring of Orion, to be able to tell me when specific processes are UP or DOWN. I rarely care about CPU, or Memory statistics on processes, i just…

Thanks. The problem is I have to add thousands of addresses in /28 or /29 increments. That will take forever using add range. Don't understand why there is not an option you can choose during spreadsheet import Tom Graham, CCIE #7361 OCTO/DC-NET Network Architect Office: (202) 698 1227 Mobile: (301) 538-0339

We know of couple of resources that have issues with a large number of nodes. You might try detaching each resource individually (by clicking on the name of the resource) and seeing which ones load slowly. That would help us figure it out, and I can tell you if those are fixed in 8.5.1 or if we need to look at others.

Already understood PDF support. This feature request is for XLS support. Will the next version support appending the &DataFormat=xls string to urls via Report Scheduler?

Further investigation: The initial load of pages does NOT seem to produce the error. Only mousing over certain things like: * The edit button of resources * a graph (body or title) * a syslog message * packet loss response gauges Ticket opened: 106955

How difficult would it be? It depends on the mobile browser. If it's compliant with standards, it's easy. So we already work with Safari on the iphone. If it doesn't, and the browser RIM provides on the BB is a strange beast, then it's actually a non-trivial amount of work. It's not that it's "difficult", but you'd have to…

If it's in a table, then the Custom MIB Poller can only get a single value at a time. You can get a whole column, but it's quite a challenge. I would recommend that you wait for Orion 9, which is due in Q2.

Any word on Active Directory monitoring? We will provide generic monitoring of WMI Performance Counters, which will give you all the AD info you can ask for.

We're not quite ready for the Beta for 2.0, but it's not that far in the future.

That error suggests that it's not on that device. Do you have the Engineer's Toolset? You can use the Toolset's MIB Walker to see which MIBs your device actually has.

Could someone please privides any suggesnts?

Controller with Light-Weight APs if possible. Nortel and 3Com use rebadged Trapeze wireless hardware, so support for Trapeze should cover these too.
