I think the same bug is what makes a legitimate Reboot alert automatically reset and no one ever sees it in the console. It didn't use to behave like that. I had to change how often the alert goes out and looks for the trigger condition.

I did not see an end procedure after enabling 'Force HTTPS'. I assume we will need to restart the App Pool (or site) and then do we need to re-run config wizard? Or do we just run config wizard the first time, after we enable SSL certs on the site? So is it: (assuming Win2008R2 IIS 7): 1. Enable SSL (install cert first, of…

I think the biggest difference is the built-in Asset discovery/management. Most Help Desk/Service Desk needs to integrate a separate asset discovery tool. It also has a live chat feature which is pretty interesting.

I believe it's looking at the Level, and yours is still Informational: Level: Information

this is a very intresting post... i have similar problems... i have orion, and then 4 additional pollers. 2 of the additional pollers run the APM module to help take the pressure off of the main poller. I assume Orion would not benefit from a 64-bit operation system for its run-time, but never thought about the Solarwinds…

Wow, tha's not good. We have many external customers and internal business areas where the policies differ.

Try running a MIB Walk on it. MIB walk is a tool available through the Engineer Toolset. If you don't have the toolset then you might be able to find a free MIB Walk program by googling Free MIB Walk. I've had to start by running a MIB Walk, then looking at the results to see if it returned what I'm looking for. If you do…

Congrats bsciencefiction.tv! That is quite an achievement. So, how does it feel to be in the 200k club?

Does Net Send still work in windows?

The times are midnight. And gridlines for the x-axis will be part of the same update.

Hi hany helmy, We've got a meeting scheduled tomorrow to resolve the issue, I'll circle back here to log the solution. As a note on the permissions, the monitoring user needs SYSADMIN to correctly monitor and cannot be "sa". We'll likely do an update connection as that typically re-grants or fixes any permissions issues,…

OK, this seens to be a timeout issue or number of ports. Not knowing all the dynamic ports that application would use I allocated first all ports. Plan was to removed all unused ports once I was able to caputer data. After clicking on buttion to create, an exteneded period where it seemed Orion was crunch on information…

We're not 100% sure, but it looks like a bug. It would be helpful if those of you who have seen it each open a ticket: 1. pls include diagnostics 2. pls reference this thread. thx

If you have any other events in your "LEM Internal Events" filter, what do their timestamps show? (How does it compare to the SNMP traps?) The date is parsed from the log on the appliance (you can see it there - 20150528.163102), so (at least ) two things are possible - 1. appliance time was wrong (first guess) 2. maybe…

Yeah nice one Lorenzo !! This worked for me also
-
Thanks Lorenzo, it worked like a charm :-)

Ok. Now, I see the 'Ambiguous column name 'DateTime'' error you are getting. Sorry, don't have an answer and defer to the SQL gurus.
-
Just for future reference, I found a solution to this problem. Instead of setting a Time of Day limitation on the Trigger Condition, I can set multiple Trigger Actions with separate Time of Day limitations on them.
-
best bet is to hide the URL bar, so publish internet explorer with tons of controlls limited, so all you get is the content... should let you give access to customers without any risk

Thanks to Hamza with SW Support (Case 256329), we discovered that the services failed because they aren't even enabled (At least, the perfmon counters are not installed!).

We would like to have the APM pages on the hot standby web site. Could you provide more information on this. That's not a supported configuration. We do offer an additional web server for Orion, and if you buy that, we offer a web-only installer for APM.
-
In my previous post, I was talking about the additional web server. For the additional poller, yes there is Additional APM poller that can go on an NPM Additional Poller. If you have two copies of APM, you should contact Customer Service to trade in one for an Additional APM Poller. The APM pollers are not like NPM…

@bobross - That would be great! Please share your script with me. Thanks a lot.

I figured out where to enter the script but it didn't fix my issue.

I've never had any luck with Orion monitoring Linux; or course that was with version 8.02. Last I knew you needed 1 specific version of snmpd running that would work with Orion. I don't think any other versions were working. Orion supports the latest version of net-snmp. We poll the host resources MIB, which is what other…

Alert-suppression based on dependencies is planned for an upcoming release.
-
No update. Still on the roadmap.
-
Thanks Tim. Can you advise on a possible workaround in the meantime ? Is it still possible to do a Direct DB insert or is it discouraged currently ?
-
Hey christopherbell, Thanks for sharing your knowledge with the community!

Bob, We'd like to add this functionality to the product in the future. Could you give us a little more detail on the usage scenario--that is, what is the problem you're trying to solve and what would the solution ideally look like. Thanks, Denny
