Unfortunatly queries with multiple INNER JOINS and lots of measuring points do take a while, as in the case with IP SLA reports, I also have the issue that a report with 5-6min generation time in the report writer will not complete on the website. So even the report scheduler wont generate it. Is there a quick…

LGarvin wrote: This will be problematic for many reasons. A "NOT File Exists" rule is a challenging choice to use as an Applicabilty Rule in any case. The better choice here is to version the FlagFile and use a FileVersion rule to test for older file versions. (In the FileVersion rule, a missing file is considered to be…

We have HP uCMDB; nodes are discovered and populated via NNMi and DDMa. We set up a powershell script to populate NCM and NPM with nodes we’ve previously discovered with NNMi and DDMa to reduce network discovery.. we would like to add to the powershell the ability to add the nodes and Subnets we discover to UDT and IPAM.

Orion server is 9.0 , SQL Server 2005.

This seems weird to me - did you troubleshoot this with support?
-
Hi Yes I am able to SNMP walk/get when using the network address as the destination address as well as when i use the read address

lchance, GZhytar is actually looking at a similar issue with another customer. Could you open a Support case so that we can help in a more interactive fashion?

Just to update the post. I have fixed the issue with the classic tools not returning IP or DNS entries (i had not configured a layer 3 device in the settings before running the scan) As to the Workspace studio not working i currently have an open case with support that has gone to the dev teams for investigation.

When I stop SNMPD service (which is being monitored via SSH script in APM) the NMS marks it as down. The other processes (which are being monitored via SNMP in APM) are marked as unknown. We get alerts for all the processes as we have an advanced alert configured to trigger when all the following apply... * Node Status is…

There's reports I can't get into because they just take to long and things go south. I'll have to recreate a bunch of them. The suggestion is an option to work around for now. There needs to be an edit button or edit reports menu item. Many people aren't sure what the report will pull and for what devices, so they need to…

Mark: That link doesn't work, could you please repost.

This scan I used IP ranges, not Subnets, so plugged roughly 30 IP ranges into this portion, most of them are a /25 mask, some a /24 so there's not a real great deal of IP's in those ranges. Is there any difference using ranges compared to subnets? I've just started using this tool so I've been using both options to test.

Rob, If that's the case, then it looks like a bug. Can you open a ticket and include diagnostics?

Hi, I have received the fix instructions some days ago. For me it works fine on Linux. You can try to apply attached fix pack. As i know serv-u installation files for Windows and Linux are the same.

cheers dude, I am having a play witht hat now... my problem will be when i need to get an average over an 8 hour period... total packets xmit in last hour (aggregate of all 5 minute values in interface-traffic table - i think) total packer errors in last hour (single stat collected every 5 mins) i need to be able to pull…

After upgrading NCM to the current version 8.0 it automatically installed "SolarWinds SCP Server" 1.3.0.30 (note: not SFTP server) and "SolarWinds TFTP Server" 11.0.4.0 The versioning seems to vary depending on the source.

Awesome Michal! And, it was created as a standard report too. Only tweaks I made was to group on Operation Name, strip “from CMTS to Modem” from column name Round Trip Time and changed Orientation from Landscape to Portrait. Works great! Thank you so much! I’d recommend this be included as a standard VNQM report.

Every time I try to copy/paste the alert the body of the post is blank

I've had a support call response and will try the fix at some point today. Once I've confirmed it works I'll post details up here.

Yes. Kiwi Syslog can either forward the source IP address in the message (as per RFC 3164) or you can configure it to act as a transparent proxy and forward the Syslog UDP packets unadulterated Great! Thanks Chris.

Microsoft provides only minimal support for SNMP. Instead, they publish their management statistics to WMI. As mentioned above, you might try to use a tool like SNMP Informant to convert WMI to SNMP and then use the custom poller. Our Applicaiton Performance Monitor monitors more of Exchange than NPM. In APM 2.0, we'll be…

Since Orion v9 requires dot net 3.5 during install, could someone please come up with an event log forwarder that doesnt require dot net 1.0. There is no dot net 1 support on x64 server and this has been a real pain trying to get event logs from SQL, Exchange, and basically all the heavy db servers running x64. Loading the…

no, apparently cannot. I chose to import IPs spreadsheets instead.

Get Table functionality is coming in the next major Orion release.

Traditionally, the areas of keen interest for QOS reporting are related to Queue Drops per Queue. As an example often most people have either a 4 class or 6 Class queuing using Class Based Weighted Fair Queueing. There can be drops on any of these queues. This is usually measured by a count of packets. Often these queues…

there is also another area you can use to eliminate this issue. there is a place to set a time that the alert is triggered before sending the alert. I had to start using this with some of the servers that were having SNMP failures. when restarting the SNMP service i could see up to 5 hits on the alert before the service…

Thanks again for your help! On a side note, did you have to change all your Advanced SQL reports to use the NodesData table when you upgraded to 11.5? The name change to the Nodes table to NodesData worries me that we will have to change over 100 Advanced SQL reports.
