Checking on your case, will post back.

We just run a single RAID10 for both sys/apps and SQL (and then create a c: partition for sys/apps and d: for the sql data). We do this for a couple of reasons.. * Our sys/app boot partition is normally 20Gig, so we might as well use the rest of the drive for the data space. * The more read/write heads (i.e. drives) the…

I am the one managing it though... So if you have a fairly central management structure for your node monitoring and default the property to no then you have no problem. You have to deliberately set the node property to yes and it is node specific since each one has a node property of maintenance, it would make no sense if…

Couple more things that came to mind. These are more *fixes* than feature requests. 1. Have the Custom Properties "Update All Report Schemas" with each upgrade automatically. It's pretty frustrating to get emails from 25 people the day after an upgrade because reports went out all broken. 2. Fix issue with Orion Report…

We are investigating the cause or causes of this issue. Please open a ticket. The more data we get the sooner we can diagnose.

Is there a way to do that using a SQL command in the SolarWinds API, or would that need to be done directly on the database server? If the former is true, then my question would be: what does that command look like? If the latter is true, then my next question would be: is there a way to configure a Custom field in…

Hotfix doesn't appear to have fixed it.... at least not for my customer. Support ticket is 10600 That issue was not addressed in Hotfix 1. We have it scheduled for the next hotfix.

1. Go to APM Settings > AppBuilder. 2. Run through the wizard 3. Select WMI Performance Counter as the Component Monitor Type 4. It will ask you for a target server to browse to. Select your Citrix box. 5. Enter admn credentials for the Citrix box, and it will probe the Citrix box and show you a list of Performance…

There are lots of smaller features, but the two main features are these: * We "retired" the Custom MIB Poller so that we could replace it with a completely new tool, the Universal Device Poller. The Universal Device Poller polls MIB Tables (or really columns, in tables). You can "Transform" data by converting single values…

Thought I'd bump this thread as I'm not sure if any one has a solid solution. We recently created a W2008/SQL 2008 cluster with shared SAN storage. I added each node and then the Windows cluster VIP (WCVIP). For the individual nodes, I monitor it's own C drive and the related NICs/HBA's (heartbeat, etc) and then I have the…

I come for a software development background and we never changed our licensing technology unless there was a financial reason to do so. Typically, people were getting support without paying their fees, fell through the cracks, or were being incorrectly billed to their benefit. My point is that if you can integrate a new…

while in the MIB browser there is an option to import a MIBX file ffrom solarwinds. I believe that updates the single MIB that the file references. What does solarwinds do to the mib.my file to change it into the mibx file If we can update using the mibx then why cant we just update from a mib.my

Yes. We're in the process of updating the eval. You can download the latest Orion eval. SP3 should be included.

No there is a sp3...I changed the link to sp2 and found it...Fixed my problem...But FYI I did get a scare when it wasn't responding after the upgrade until a full reboot..

Hey all. An update. Like I said before, the problem is with the 'Last Month' period that can be set on charts. To temporarily get your site back up and running(until we have a code fix available), you'll need to update the ResourceProperties table. The best way to do this(so that you can more easily go back and change them…

You should open a Support ticket. We added the feature back in 8.1. No programming is required. You need to turn it on for a given account. If it's not working for you, we should get that fixed.

Thanks Peter for your quick reply! Okay, this will work for us, I think. We're not doing any polling of subnet address spaces yet. So, with the Toolset subnets imported at the top level, we should be able to drag and drop them into the proper supernet.

Ditto. Thanks Jeremy!

Sorry to say, no update.

SP1 will be days, not weeks.

Bryan, If you open a Support ticket, please copy the Thwack thread in the ticket.

The upgrade to the latest version of NCM solved the problem! Everything is working

We are about to ship a 9.5.1, which has rolls up some bug fixes and enhances performance of the "job engine", which runs UnDPs and some other polling. After that, we'll have a more substantial version coming. It should be available as a release candidate soon, but I can't be more specific than that. But that bad news is…

Custom properties apply to nodes, interfaces, and volumes, but they can't be applied to other objects.

I have implemented this change on all of my pollers, so will have to monitor ebfore i verify answer. Do we think this change might negate the requirement to install 10.1.1? I am yet to see a detailed description of what 10.1.1 is hoping to address....

The fields you can assign depend on the event type - there's about a dozen that ALL events have (the ones up to ExtraneousInfo if you're looking in the console), then stuff like source/destination IPs depend on which event ends up firing your rule and being used in the email. The event types are described in the manual,…
