Got the website back up, but still has the constant errors citing "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation." when I try to look at anything from the admin side of the website. If I hit Polling engine, or manage things it just errors out and I get the return to home page.

bump to Quang or anyone that can answer my followup questions above in regard to DNS Hostname pattern matching?

we understand that we would get 12 samples in a 60 minute period but the question is why are we seeing samples of 60Mbytes on a 45Mbyte link. This is physically not possible on serial links.

You need to download a new version because we have different binaries in our installer packages for different license levels. I think I can safely say that changing this part of our licensing is definitely on the Orion roadmap.

HSE can backup multiple pollers on one database, but not multiple databases.

We're still working out the details, so I can't share that just yet.

The real reason this is such a problem for me is the duplicate nodes. Andrew, I'm with mdriskell on the duplicate node issue. Please include a feature request to add a discovery option to "Resolve duplicate Node addresses to Loopback address (if configured)". Scheduled discovery is worthless to us until this functionality…

Got it. This is known behavior, and it's something we will address in a future release.

If you do an RDP session to the SQL server, it's likely already installed.

He's already replied, waiting for GA is not an option. Just wanting to avoid to too much extra work. Jon.

I wasn't the original poster of the question in this thread - just came across it while searching the forum. I can't see where I can mark the answer as correct - - I clicked on like if that helps.

LOL Good one Denny! Thanks again! Ron

Hi Johnuk. Where did you get the cabinets objects for your mockup? Did you create them from scratch? I'd love to get a copy. Thanks.
-
Much appreciated. Thanks!

agree and agree :-) and also, when SW dumped system manager, they forgot to put the ability to control traffic and error stat collection on interfaces within the web interface.. you used to be able to expand an interface in system manager, and delete error/traffic poller, but they just plain forgot to do it in web console…

i get this same problem trying to connect to my 2 new pollers from system manager on the primary poller You cannot connect System Manager remotely. the website is not up to scratch yet Can you be more specific? What are the issues that are preventing it from being fully functional?

Both Servers are running 10.2, one server is running NCM 6.1 and the other 7.0, But that shouldn't matter since this wasn't working before I upgraded it to 7.0 either.

You could definitely syslog to a syslog-ng host, then put a LEM agent on that host to pick up the logs (or, you could send them to your syslog-NG host and forward them to LEM, but I don't know if the effect would be any different). You do need to make sure the format matches an expected syslog format and the files are…

JP - please open a Support ticket. Include diagnostics.

It's 2000 of each. You could monitor 6000 objects. E.g., you could monitor 2000 nodes, each with 1 interface and 1 volume.

I just like that Denny said I'm "always right". Probably the last time I'll ever hear that from him. :)
-
The answer to your question is yes, you do still have to configure connectors/tools to monitor logs after installing the agent. The agent software just connects it up to the appliance, the connectors/tools tell the agent which log files to monitor for which applications. PS: If you're seeing the Agent Online/Offline alerts…

this can be useful for looking for keywords in log files on Linux based systems Linux/Unix File Keyword Monitoring

We've had success with the 2000MHz setting in most cases. (With the 2 cores, it comes out to 1000MHz/core)

Most users manage by viewing the Traps page in the web console. Pulling Traps and Alerts into one view would be a feature for a future release.
-
No. The alerts are run by a service. The Trap Viewer is not required.

We're aware of a bug with Cisco 65xxs. It's scheduled for an upcoming service pack.
-
Ok. That's a feature request. I'll consider that for a future release.
