Looking forward to historical data. The current installment is very promising but looking forward to when the same level of functionality originally available through the wireless module is available within NPM. Many customers that take advantage of WCS also are using location appliances. Have there been any discussions…

Sorry for the confusion, the chart above does state around 30 seconds, but we are getting devices out for about 30 minutes and still showing as "Warning".

I figured out the issue. One of the SW guys called me back about the demo and they were nice enough to work through it with me. It turns out the legacy SMI-S poller was installed properly but the issue we were having related to communication across the network. The resolution to the issue was to install an agent on the…

Beauty... that worked. Does the engine ID matter - I noticed the the old one was (1) and the new one is (2). Thanks Mark.

Do you have to buy the Toolset to get real-time? I have trial version.

i was able to replicate this several times... other times it just did not react as expected. browsing the web was fine performance, but within the CPE, the performance was abismal when it cames to adding filters, sorting columns etc... Go to custom property editor Go to interfaces Add a filter on Fullname for say “pmyk”…

I would second this request, completely... I am curious about your perl script; I prefer perl however I built a Powershell based script to import information from CMDB->MySQL into Solarwinds... Would you consider sharing your perl script; I can share my Powershell. Thanks..

OK...... HOLD ON..... I have this figured out now.... I copied the 2 .asp files to the wrong place... I have copied the 2 .asp files to the correct location and all is working well. Thanks again for the link above and the assistance...

Good advice! I hadn't thought of that. Thanks Sachsj.

Wow. You all are a tough crowd. We officially shipped on the 11th. It's now the 20th, and we're talking about the release dates for the next version. On the other hand, I'll take it as a compliment that you like what you're getting and want more. :-) Service Packs will not introduce new features. A service pack is supposed…

Not possible, tickets may not be auto opened, and remote NOC(s) and Operations use Consoles and Dashboarding for status. It also must be logged and retained as part of our ISO27001 Cert.

Fortunately we have some tools that show where their lovely code is spending it's time. Network issues are usually obvious as well as server resource issues. Their(app developers) lives are a little tougher now.
-
OK. You've got tickets on other things, but you should open one on this specific issue.

We've seen switches go into "unkown" state in NPM; when checking the logs, we see this message: %SNMP-3-INPUT_QFULL_ERR: Packet dropped due to input queue full) This usually happens when we're doing an inventory or other query-intensive function. Cisco's documentation for the release(s) in question wasn't all that helpful…

In your web page, click "Admin", click "Manage Nodes", in the "Show" drop menu, select "Interfaces". In the box next to that drop menu, type in the node name that has a bunch of interfaces you want to change and click "Search". Go through the resulting list of interfaces, select the ones you want to change, and now you can…

Denny I don't know who Scott is but nowhere in my post did I say you suck I merely expressed my frustration with your product. In regards to telling you why you suck, well! I did that using the proper channels and in a very professional manor. And your right you shouldn't be quick to go on the defensive, now what if I had…

I see where you are talking about the top10 but for some reason it isn't showing my drive space. I was able to setup the alert like you showed me above. Thanks for the help with that!
-
agree, that would be very useful as long as we keep the simple functionality for us simple-heads :-) another minor change but int he same space would be to allow a Custom property field be called from the "email To, CC and BCC" field int he action tab. I would then be able to assign Node contacts as a custom property and…

Hi Byron- Were you able to modify this to get a complete list of Nodes with their CPU count? I cannot figure out how to inner join these with an existing report. Any help is appreciated! Thanks, Mike
-
Thanks a lot for the feedback! Apparently, someone changing these permissions is usually the reason behind this error.
-
hmmm.. maybe if i use that report, and then switch out the bytes to packets for Tx and Rx.... then add the 2 metrics you said, but average them.... that way i get the averages of the packet-errors int he last hour over the day, i think that might be a valid value? SELECT TOP 10000 Nodes.NodeID AS NodeID,…

I think what we really need is the ability to add a custom SQL query string as a condition I agree. Don't know when, but I see it as a key feature.

As Leon Mentioned, a switchport cannot be both a network connection for a device and a monitoring port at the same time. If you look at your switch interface status, you'll notice that your destination port changes from 'connected' to 'monitoring'. By design, monitoring ports cannot receive transmitted data from an end…

Ticket has been open since 02/01/2010, not getting much traction.

Are all of your scheduled reports completing each day? My guess is that one of your scheduled reports is failing, or not finishing, or something is happening at the end of scheduled reports. The easiest place to get to scheduled reports is from within the reports console itself. They are scheduled using the old task…

The thing that worries me is that it may not appear until a release where native ASP code is no longer supported. The next, web-based node management version will still support ASP code. The version after that, probably not. So ASP probably has another year before we discontinue support.

I thought he was talking about the new Login Text that appears under the Login fields. That's what won't accept jpeg.

We're looking into this. Thanks for reporting it.
