Fair point - there is still a minimum level of standards that you'd want to apply if something is going into your cardholder network. You wouldn't want something vulnerable to exploit on that network, for example, because it could be leveraged against other things on that network. A lot of (most?) customers are not…

I think you just invented something there . . . hugging wrapping paper lol.

I'll have a look.

I think there is going to be a KB up on this soon as the team gets closer to release, but initially we chose the Emerging Threats Block list (which is in Tony's list above) as it's an accumulation of several other sources that is regularly maintained and didn't require any additional licensing on our/your behalf. It's…

Hi mavturner, My UDT license have valid maintenance until this December, but the Release Candidates section (of my customer Portal) does not show UDT RC. The section is empty. Should I ask SolarWinds customer service for the RC ?

irishjd, which fields are you referring to? I'm just trying to understand whether there is some technical issue or some problem with understanding the question.

pat_m, jspeer, bradwalters1128, I'll contact you directly.

This is a GREAT mission. Not only does it have incredible prizes but it actually is forcing education on things we really need to be looking at in depth. Amazing job guys! Really great idea!! Now, let's hope I win one of these things!

Will this APM include cluster aware monitoring? Right now I need to create three nodes for a two node SQL cluster. One for each host and a third for the SQL APM and clustered storage. It is a manual process and I cannot scan/import changes for these nodes as they need to be managed separately to ensure we do not receive…

Hey ahpdwebmaster, Indeed, there is no rule about that mentioned in the Ts&Cs. When I do the drawing, I don't exclude anyone, I take all participants who correctly answered the questions for the given drawing, and use a random name picker. Obviously, I have to check the location criteria, since that's more of a legal…

There is a lot here to keep me busy reading. Thanks all for putting this together.

Difficult to operate is matter of opinion. Networking itself can be difficult to understand if you do not have the right mindset.

Sounds good. Thanks Peter. Unfortunately, I since found out that UDT 3.2.1/3.2.2 are not compatible with NPM 11.0.1, only UDT 3.2.0 is. So, it may be a good while before NPM 11.5 upgrade is even considered due to all the issues I'm reading other customers have encountered.

That's right, the account to be followed is @SWI_network

torvial, thanks for letting us know. the URL is now fixed. Give it another try.

Well, the other approach to compliance is to schedule actual reports to export the data in the background, so you just pull up your report, rather than having to search live data. Might be a little tomato, tomato, but it's often what we recommend.

You continue to entertain my friend!!

We have implemented coverage for NetApp that uses a similar technology to remotely retrieve their Windows-like event logs (there's several reasons this doesn't work to regular servers/workstations, but it was built for the SAN solution). You might try that built-in coverage and see if it works for EMC.

I just upgraded to 10.6 GA and have discovered the Export to Excel is not available as a link for Report Writer created reports. The link is only present for Web GUI created reports. SolarWinds didn't tell us the whole truth. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!

Americans always add Z's instead of S's. Nothing wrong with it. The word sounds the same and a Z gives it a buzz. Language is in a constant evolutionary state isn't it? Just like tech. I reside in a hobbit hole in middle England, a land of rolling hills and wild hares. I'm going to try and work "Kittywumpus" into my next…
