Great information joe, tran. I really appreciate your help. I've got the report schedule to kick off tonight for the first time and anticipate it should give me what I need based on tests I've already made. Really appreciate it!

This is what i see when i double click on a node.

even large SQL databases can run fine on this platform. We have heard the same thing, and we know of a few customers who have succeeded, so it is possible, but it seems to require some very specific vmware configuration. What I would say is that if you can get your virtualized database to perform as well as a physical…

RG, Seems like a bug to us. You can open a ticket, and we'll see if we can reproduce it on 9.1 SP1 (soon to be SP2). If it's still broken, we'll fix it on the 9.1 branch. It's unlikely that we'll go back to 8.5.1.

Hello Chris / Solarwinds Help, Can you please help me on the above issue with evaluation. Thanks, Rangaraj

Good to know. Thanks for all the good information. I recently got assigned to doing a full implementation and found your forums to be very handy. Thanks for all your hard work1

Perfect, thanks for the confirmation and overall responsiveness. I'll be reinstalling this bad boy after the holiday. D

One of them is R2 and having this issue. The other is non R2 so I will apply a different template to it. What can I do to help the R2 server?

I thought about and I think that might work. However, I do have it working on the alerts like I wanted it to. Resets on the alert are still causing me problems though. I have routers that will occasionally drop their frame connection for about a minute or two. My alerts are currently working because I get the alert message…

hmmm... i have gone throughm assigned the poller and all seemed fine.. i created the alert and that seems to look OK, though no alert yet. Problem i have is with the chart... i create a new View, add the resource for "Universal Device Poller Chart". when i go to preview, i can not see the poller name on the pull-down even…

dude, this is magic stuff... i am actually trying it now... i could not resist logging in and having a play... i have a router with a rubbish config of only a mgmnt class and a default class but i can use the method to test anyway..... u really are brill... i want solarwinds to acknowledge this and roll it into the base…

Only since Friday. So I need to wait until Friday to figure out if this is working? I can see that average CPU load and memory utilization is being reported, so maybe it'll work?
-
Looks like the "all" fixed it. Thanks to all who helped. I've already built paging groups on COU High for x time, Memory high for x time etc John

Thanks, that worked! I think I'm almost there but I'm I have a question about part of the installation. Do these two additional components need to be install on the database or the server where SAM lives in? SAM requires two additional components in order to monitor Oracle databases: * Oracle's Instant Client * SolarWinds…

Thanks for checking anyways.

I want the ability to have our on call admins to use the "acknowledge alerts" feature. If the alert does not require immediate action they simply could acknowledge it with their Blackberry. So if that's the important feature, then is a mobile alert view (with acknowledge) the main thing you're looking for? What if we…
-
I'm a little late to this conversation but the real advantage I see with making this work for us corporate Blackberry users is the ability to have our sysadmins acknowledge alerts from their device after hours so I can actually implement the alert escalation rules when they don't respond. Has anybody found a good way…

LGarvin, you have me focusing in the right direction now. I removed the SUBSTRING(Nodes.SysName, 1, CHARINDEX('.',Nodes.SysName)-1) part and ran the queries. The results reveal several rows for each column with a CHARINDEX result of 0. I see several rows where Nodes.SysName and Nodes.DNS columns are blank and thus return 0…

Both queries throw the same error "Invalid length parameter".

im on hold now and been on hold for an hour.

Yes Dell Openmanage and HP SIM integration would be a great addition. The ability to use Solarwinds as the only tool we need rather than having lots of tools would be a great bonus.

Thanks David. I will provide this to the higher beings for their digestion. I apologize if I came across harshly - their concern was/is that we have a rougue application reeking havoc. I realize now that you built this on top of a Microsoft application which is far from perfect. We will keep our fingers crossed that this…

Correct , we are using the Custom White listing.

Mark's right. NTA is being monitored. Just to be clear on expectations. Product Managers (and others) monitor every post on a product. That does not mean that we can answer everything. It's a community forum, so we try to hang back long enough to let the community chime in. There are actually only a few questions that only…

Packets dropped outbound due to QoS are also part of Output Drops(CISCO). 2000 an hour on 100Mbps and out of a large amount of packets shouldn't be hurting anything. Show policy-map interface [interface name with QoS policy) and look for packet drops from your policy f any. If the input speed of other interfaces on the…

hmmm dependancies are ont heir way? ooooh baby... how many levels, and will NCM be included :-)
-
That's what I was looking for. Support said to put the interfaces on the map but wasn't sure how that would look. I like how this looks with the objects. Thanks I'll put this in.

Where do you want to change names? The custom property editor? The web?
