So what would cause the monitor to work for 30 mins, then error out for a few hours, then work for 40 mins, then error out again.

I ran a continuous ping between each of the the pollers and the SQL DB, all < 1ms, I saw a very few that were 15ms but for the most part it is rock solid. The DB size is about 11.3 gig Status and statistical polling intervals are both 420 seconds (scaled back from 300 sec to see if it would helps, it didn't help much)…

Right click my computer, choose manage computer. Services -> Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager -> Web Sites -> {Solarwinds_Website}. Right click the website and choose permissions.

i run the maintenance nightly just so it doesnt get time to build up to much.

Brian, To my knowledge, we haven't seen SP3 do this before. We'll need diagnostics, so a ticket is the way to go. dcl

We are currently running 3.5.1 and no problems. If I recall correctly this turned out to be a data retention issue in 2.1 and we adjusted the IPSLAM Data Retention settings.

How do I raise a ticket with Technical Support? Please advise

My Orion installation takes about 10 minutes to actually stop the service. Is this fixed in SP1? Our Orion takes a good 5 minutes to stop the service. In Task Manager, I watch memory usage slowly tick down from about 218M avg to around 170+/-M and finally, poof, it's gone.

Hmm, I have not received any solution of any kind to my ticket. Frankly, I came back here a bit ticked off as I just received an e-mail from the Solarwinds Technical Support rep saying the case was going to be closed since he has not heard from me - yet there's been no correspondence with me since I provided the requested…

It's not something we've tested, so I can't promise anything, but there are no obvious warning flags.

I'm having the same situation with a VOIP OID. When you try to create a new Universal Device Poller --> Browse MIB Tree, then you select your device and lookup for the OID and click the "Test" button, I'm getting "The OID is not supported" error. CISCO already gave me the OID and MIB, but I could not find a way to load the…

These are the actual alert types in LEM that correspond to those types of events, though. For example, if you wanted this: * System shutdown/reboot/status information - System Shutdown, System Reboot, System Status You would build a rule/filter for SystemShutdown.DetectionIP = <vmware server(s)> OR SystemReboot.DetectionIP…
-
The minimum system requirements are listed here: www.solarwinds.com/.../system_requirements.aspx Getting more specific is difficult because it depends on how much you are monitoring, how frequently you are polling, how much traffic is going through NTA, and how many VoIP sites you have.

I don’t think adding a function to change the status of the node from an alert action is right approach and it’s probably why the feature isn’t provided today. The real issue as I see it isn’t so much setting the device status when the alert is true (you can configure a trigger to do this fairly easy), it’s how to…

We're pretty sure it's not a general slowness. You may notice that the first time you bring up the web console, it takes extra time to load, which is a quirck of .Net, but once that's done, it's responsive except for a few problematic resources.

You should open a support ticket.

Thanks tdanner. Is there a document explaining about verb calls? Daniel
-
Sure and thanks for your help

Can you post the whole URL? Also, can you post the whole error message again? They all say "orion website error", but the details of the messages may be different.

Nice work Bedrich! My original query works great with changing the joins. However, I love your revised query. It's actually what I preferred the report to be but couldn't figure out how to write the query. My query ends up taking up way too much report landscape real estate. You da'man! I owe you a beer. Thank you!

So, what I have been able to do so far is to run the following command locally on the test server: snmpwalk -v 3 -On -u ######## -l authPriv -a SHA -A ######## -x AES -X ######## -m ALL 127.0.0.1 > v3Walk.log This command completes successfully, and then a "cat v3Walk.log | wc -l" returns a line count of 12059. So snmpwalk…

I'm back. ESX v3, not 3.5?

Yes. Select TriggerQuery from AlertDefinitions Where AlertName = 'Alert me when Unix Inbox Filecount goes Warning from 3:00 AM to 11:00 PM'
-
I would gladly beta test when you need it.
-
I dunno, I have that set up already on my Nortels as far as local user, it throws an error. Only way it worked for yanking configs was via tacacs. I can test again.
-
Might need to do that! Once we figure out how to get some useful info from them on SW as far as NPM goes, I will send something over if it does not exist already. Thanks Jiri.

It's still on the list.

As mentioned before ..here is the link I found re the Cisco catalyst 2924 XL switches..these aren't compliant with the ACL's that apparently are required for TFTP connectivity www.networking-forum.com/viewtopic.php
