Integration means that OpenManage is collecting data, and we're doing something to show their data in our UI or even put it in our database. But you must have Open Manage installed. If we monitor it ourselves, we make OpenManage redundant.

See this thread for a discussion.

Again, I've been assigned to other projects. But as I better understand the inner workings of the company I'm working for, I'll be put back on the Solarwinds project soon enough. I've put Andy's answer as verified and will get back to this thread as soon as I'm assigned to the project again. Thanks for all your input !

We're going to make the rollup configurable in an upcoming SP.

Step 1: Did you see the alert in the Console? Check "Change Management Events" filter or search (Explore > nDepth) for "Auditable Group Events" (make sure the timeframe covers the time you made the change). If not, we're either looking for the wrong thing, or something's not configured. Make sure the event is appearing in…

All fixed! It was indeed permissions related but I also had to enable Impersonation. Many thanks for your help with this. One other question if I may? I want to be able to monitor 14 DB's in total. The plan was to create 14 blank PS Monitors and copy the scripts contents across except I can't seem to see how you add all…

Good news, we've tested our theory and confirmed it worked, we're cleaning it up and getting copies of everything so you can see/implement them.
-
OK. Our bad (my bad, specifically, to be completely honest). We should have made it configurable. We will do so in an upcoming patch.
-
Okay this is weird but I don't see the path \Program Files\Solarwinds .... ? This server I'm doing this on is the server that holds the MS SQL Server repository for DPA. Is this where I should be doing this?

Yes, we have done performance testing and the most common bottleneck is at the database. The first questions I would ask are about how much RAM your database has. The more the better Is it RAID 5 or RAID 1.0; the latter will deliver much better performance for Orion. I would also ask if every view is slow. Or only some…
-
I don't expect us to do that. We realize it would be useful functionality, but with limited resources, we expect to put more weight behind delivering on more of the outstanding core Orion feature requests, which means you still ultimately win.
-
If you're nervous about upgrading, I would recommend waiting a couple of weeks for 8.5.1. It will have quite a few fixes to some of the issues we've encountered with 8.5.0.
-
Hi Everyone, I've been dealing with this issue for a few weeks and been working with Solarwinds support. I was comsuming 65GB of disk space in under 1 hour so I too had to turn off Netflow inorder to use Orion. Last week I worked with one of the developers and what we did was uninstall Netflow, remove all Netflow related…

! Connection timeout in seconds Timeout=40 ..no messin' around. :-)

Is this likely to exist in the next version? I'm sure every single customer has at least one cluster in their data centre?
-
IP Address Groups provide a way to group data. You cannot define an application in terms of IP addresses, but that's something we're going to add in the future.
-
still have the Application Monitor link in the menu You can just delete those.

Mav, What's up with new release of IPSLAM? It's been a year since the last major release (v3.5). The natives are getting restless.
-
Thanks a bunch - I'm not going to be able to test this until Thursday due to work commitments, but I'll let you know how it goes.

Gripe registered. Validity of said gripe acknowledged.

Well the alerts come if the device is marked down, even after a cycle or 2 if the outage isn't solved the device will still show "down". Is there a way to repoll to see if the parent is down and then re-assign the child devices "unreachable" automatically?
-
Our practice is to make a copy of the default resource and prefix an identifier (company initials) of resources we choose to modify. That way you always have the default view to fallback to if you ever need it.

I was also interested in getting LIVE data out of Storage manager and I created a VBscript that did as you suggested and it's still not working. The script goes into the 'reporter_schedules' table and changes the value of the scheduled report to 30 minutes later for the next run time. I can see the value change but the…

Hi, I downloaded the script and tested on my Cattools version 3.6, my Cattools activities ran successfully but I cannot find the backup files. maybe my configuration was wrong? I configured the username and password, the FTP username and password and the FTP server ip address for the device. I configured…

The File I am needing is this 35-AllNetflowSources.Resource yes? It looks as though you have attached a .txt file, but I am unable to open it. Its full of weird characters...

Our broad direction is to keep providing broader and deeper device-specific monitoring, and Brocade would fall into that bucket. But in the meantime, the universal device poller would let you poll a wide variety of Brocade statistics.

Show disk space on individual vm machines inside ESX. It's something we expect to get to in a future release, but as you're obviously aware, it's not available in SNMP, which is what 9.1 uses to gather info.

Thanks! I was just a bit worried about C#...I take it that the App is written in C#...I figured at most, I would have to go from VB to VB.Net, ASP.Net (not all that bad). My customizations involve a few Resource files that pull static data from a few tables that I added to the DB...nothing that spectacular. This weekend I…
-
Let me note that although we support ASP resources now, we'll be phasing them out in a future release.

It's not moved up in priority, and it isn't clear that Cisco is committed to the technology long-term.
