Hi, I took the NPM 101, 102, 201,and 202 classes that were very good (bit too long) earlier this year (Feb/Mar). One of the instructors had an email sign up list for future "new" classes coming in May. What happened to the "NEW" classes? I do not see them listed anywhere. Thanks

I tried that recently, as I used to be a huge PC gamer. I built a monster rig with a GTX 970 and 16GB RAM and ended up selling it because it just didn't feel as fun as a console. I never thought I would say those words, but I prefer my XBox to a PC.

This feature request is already 3 years old and no reply from Solarwinds... Why did Solarwinds integrate with Cisco and MS and not the leaders in the DDI space? (EfficientIP, Infoblox, BlueCat). Doubtful I will paying for IPAM maintenance next year. +1 for Infoblox

Hey xbod, Sorry for the confusion, it's the tablet indeed, as listed in the mission blog.
-
rschroeder, unfortunately this mission needed to be completed during the month of June, last year, to get the points.
-
Hey guys, You should have your points now. Go check your account and, as usual, feel free to DM if you think something is missing.

Good stuff.

Then I hope that horse likes to go to the jungle.

Aaand, we have another winner. The $100 ThinkGeek gift card goes to .. ehuligan. Congrats!

I'll have to join the rest of the people here and add SPLUNK as our log file intelligence tool. Active Directory, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, Exchange.... we even coded our own monitor for our own internal apps. The funny thing is, they tried to sell themselves as a competitor to SolarWinds, provided we build all of the scripts…

Hmm, we do have a connector that connects directly to the Sophos Enterprise database and pulls in events from there. Have you tried using it and it doesn't pull in what you need, or haven't gotten it to work?
-
What if you can read the language but cannot make sense of they syntax? That is where I have problems giving people more information than they know what to do with / look at. Then you get into problems. Using NetFlow for Forensics is great but for proactive monitoring for security and such that is very difficult to judge…

Hi there, we recently implemented and added an HP firewall connector. Can you download and install the latest connectors and let me know if that works? Thanks!! ref: SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: How to apply a LEM connector update package

The install was nice and easy, I think my main comment is that by default it would be nice to hide categories that are empty if at least one has content, as it takes up a lot of screen space by default. This is something our support teams are often concerned about, column space that's wasted is a big concern. We also…

squinsey, thanks for the feedback. I'll make sure to adjust to the new time for the next mission. But you were able to submit your answers, right?

Excellent post! Im interested to find out how you would approch multi-tennant where the alerting engine in SAM is concerned. I would like to be able to create a single alert (node down for example) and be able to target specific distribution lists depending on what nodes are effected. The only way possible I see would be…

I can definitely see some ponies and unicorns there as well.

The screenshot is wrong btw, it has must contain with a negation, which is not what I typed above

Got em Not sure the exact number I should have received but it looks about right. Thanks very much.

I have offices in Japan, South Korea, Shanghai, Poland, Germany, Amsterdam, London and Tel Aviv that we monitor. Not to mention several in the US.

Hi ttl, The mini mission from June is indeed linked to this month's mission, but this doesn't mean that you won't be able to participate in any other future mission, if you chose not to share these details. Since July mission will take place on Twitter and Linkedin, it makes sense to have this information. Maria

AHHHHHHHHHH, it feels good to be back in the swing of things. I was 5 questions behind. Days away from Thwack due to an audit last week, and withdrawal has ensued. So much going on this year already that I've barely had time to play with GNS3 at all like I want. Congrats to jspeer!! Someday I'll win something. For now,…

We also have the same need to apply QoS settings for VoIP/Video/Data throughout our network of ~1500 Cisco devices. Being able to check present interface settings to determine the appropriate QoS policy to apply would be fantastic. The only mechanism we now is to key off of text in the interface description which is not…

Hey Aaron, you should be seeing the release candidate in your customer portal instead of having to try the beta (bonus - supported in production!). If you're not, let us know and we'll take a look (or provide you with direct download info in the meantime).
-
liar liar thwack points on fire
-
Dawg I'll send it again.
-
nice one.............
-
Ah! Very well then. I get to play with GNS3 all the live long day and test new topologies at break neck speeds. I have already forgotten how cautious one has to be to introduce something new to the IT Management. Thanks!

Or the last working hour before the vacation?
