They would be the "dashboards" we have created for them. So if they open a page to keep an eye on things it would be full of top 10 for this and top 10 for that. For example in our main area we have 3 70 inch TVs and one of them always has a SolarWinds page up for everyone to see, the users would be doing the same type of…

Where is this setting at?

Sure, I don't mind at all. Here is the server layout first off SOL01 - Main Box (8GB RAM dual 6 core, RAID10,physical) 2008 R2 x64/300 elements SOL02 - NCM (4GB RAM dual dual core, physical) 2003 x32 SOL03 - POLLER (4GB RAM, dual quad core, physical blade) 2003 x64//6500 elements SOL04 - dedicated SQL (24GB RAM, dual 6…

No actually I am pretty sure it is real time traffic info as well. Or mine was put it that way.

CRC or or duplex mismatches would show as errors not discards. A vlan interface like any other interface has resources assigned , buffers etc. When these are over run you see discards.
-
I went 9.5 without to much fuss. Glad we did it, it was a pretty good upgrade.
-
Better importing is a must so its good to see it on the list. That is so bad right now its almost not worth using when you have 1000+ subnets.
-
I was just in NCM itself.
-
How does this option work? Does it actually just dump 95% of the flows?
-
I would say personally instead of making it so the NTA DB can be seperate just make it so it is not so dang chatty with SQL and I would think the issue would resolve itself.

I would like to see more on this too. But for me I would like to see a better way to manage alerts. I probably have a hundred or so of them. A list that goes by name only pretty much does not cut it at that point. I would love to see some graphical GUI that was more intuitive and faster for alert generation and management.
-
I have tested further. It does not seem to be alert based but possibly email address based. I took one of the alerts that was not sending out and in the CC put in the address from the alerts that are working and the working address got the email and the other did not. I then took it further and put the working address…

I do but if I view the source code on the page it is blank.
-
Might this be the "Alert Evaluation Frequency" that now shows up on the General page of the particular advanced alert you are on?
-
I think that is really subject to what kind of data you have flowing and the cost of both options. Every packet can be optimized a little but some things lend themselves to the kind of gains that you read about. Neither option is free. They both cost something. Which is another factor, how much is it to at least double…

Mav this is a great list of things. As I had mentioned on Thwack before the potential for this module is great. One thing I would like to see is something you mentioned somewhat on your list. If you are indeed going to use CDP, then why not take that just 1 step further and create another useful function. How about…

Brandon, I would take that a bit further. Like search in general needs some works so does the alert interface. At this point in the game it seriously needs some Dev lovin. It needs to be reworked with the thought in mind that many people now have 50-100+ alerts and the current interface at that point is very slow and…

Ha, it ended up being the only server I did not check which was the web server.

This is an APC Symmetra PX 500

You might try setting your default interval for for those charts to 5mins. I know that helped me out a lot.

The 3750 stack acts like a chassis all the ports should be seen as such so it should be easy pull the stats. The stack ports I am not sure about they do not show up as interfaces that I know of you can pull some stats for them but just through the command line. But as fast as those ports are I do not think you have to…

Having netflow variables in other alerts would be awesome too. IE If an alert goes out for high utilization on a circuit and you could insert a variable for the netflow top talkers on it.
-
Here is a few off the top of my head: -Poor performing remote site -Overwhelmed hardware like a server or router at a system level -Switches with resource issues, IE line card out of resources and all ports dropping -Network Bottlenecks (assuming all switches are being monitored, more for datacenter thana closet) -Poor…

I tried the Reconfig and that did not work. I do not think I have the you know whats to do an add/remove. Any other ideas?
-
OK then. Let's turn this into an NCM feature reuqest so that NCM can see APs like NPM does for the purposes of inventory.
-
We felt the same pain so i know where you are coming from. Just to let you know our change to 2003 seems to have done the trick and we are polling without a hitch now.
-
I personally would go with syslog. On top of solving your issue it would allow you to monitor for things that we all should be especially on core devices. I use it for just that on all my most important devices. It takes a little time but once you get the spam filtered out you will know when anything goes on in your…

Yes I did and I am still working the case with them. I will report my finding here.

I have been told my issue is with Dev.

Correct I am on 9.5
