In reply to both the above. After having looked some more, I have noticed that no statistics have been collected since the 13th of this month. List resources did work, I know there was a problem on this platform which we resolved but it seems since around the time of the platform being fixed, polling data stopped being…

In regards to rediscover it seems to finish properly, but no data shown. The device is an SNMP v2 device. In regards to the data - CPU Load Memory Used Packet Loss Response Time All display "No Data for Selected Time Period"
-
Rediscover did not work. Also noticed that DNS and System Name is not being populated either.
-
Have confirmed that the SNMP location is configured on the devices in question.
-
Yes. It was configured on the old device, which was then removed and re-added but is now not displaying. I will ask the person whom added/ has access to the devices to double check, but I suspect it is configured on the new devices.
-
Just found the device in question, went to edit properties and selected to test, this came back positive.
-
Nope, there was no pop up for authentication when I was recording the transaction / s. I will raise a technical support ticket.
-
SNMP location should be configured on the devices, as an old device that did previously display the location was removed and re-added but the location is not updated. I will see if I can confirm if Orion can talk via SNMP with the device.
-
That is the screenshot of where we see the error. Yes I did recreate the transactions
-
I found the nodes in question, the SNMP location is not displaying with the results from the query, which I believe therefore mean it is not being stored in the DB.
-
Yup, thanks I found it. I just need to find the nodes in the list now, luckily there aren't that many nodes so shouldn't take me too long.
-
Tried this too, has not worked. I am still getting the same error.
-
If I do the vendor thing I would still get both switches and routers though and with there being well in excess of 500 devices for one client alone i dont fancy going through them trying to find the routers, especially if they arent labelled correctly. I would have thought there would have been an easier way to do this..
-
How do I query for this through DB manager? What container do I select?
-
That item wasn't ticked, it is now. However still not able to monitor the external websites. I now just get an access denied message.
-
Hi, Yup thats fine. The issue was that the log files that Solarwinds generates had not been backed up on the SQL server therefore were not removed causing the disk to become full. Extending the space available on the drive allowed the platform to start working again. Hope that helps others out :)
-
The problem is the database is a new database has been setup to address performance issues so copying the database isnt an option and due the size of the environment the 30 day evaluation license has expired.
-
How true is this? Trying to add a new server to EOC and getting the same error messages, there are some hosts that _ in the names. However we have another server already added to EOC which has hosts with _ in the name.

Hi Mav, Thanks for the reply. Our primary goal will be as you assumed, to audit events, but particular user initiated changes. By this I mean we want to be able to view of log of changes made by a user, for us it would be beneficial if it included adding a node, removing a node, adding interfaces, removing interfaces,…

I tried to post in the SEUM but I couldnt get to / post in that section.

Is there any way to take the maps from the old platform and port them to the new platform/ database?
-
Hi Pacetti, Nope that isn't it. We have a table within an Orion Database called NPM Wireless statistics. We have noticed that there are some problems with some of the tables within the database, some work was carried out and I was running the database maintenance task manually, however when doing so it got stuck on the NPM…
-
Thanks, However i need to know whether this will cause issues with the current (old) platform becoming unlicensed.
-
Wouldn't work though as it would return every single device. I want only routers, from all vendors.
-
Thanks, although that kind of answers my question, it doesn't fully answer it. Is there no way to plug engieers toolset, which does do live graphing into Orion / into an Orion view?
-
Hi, The server is added to Database Manager and I can access it.
-
Sorry to necro such an old thread, but we have the same issue. Are you saying the virtual servers need to be aware of there hosting machine for the UDP to work? Currently our ESX servers are in Orion, but have not had credentials added so do not display what VM's they are hosting. Thanks
-
I changed the above, however I now get the following error - Communication Error: The remote server returned an error: (407) Proxy Authentication Required. Check the player configuration on both the remote player and the Orion SEUM Web Console and that the remote player service is up and running The services are running…

Nvm. Got to the bottom of it ourselves, problem was that the solarwinds log files had filled a drive on the SQL server.

Anyone able to assist? Please?
