Ok, I found it. The "Request Type" needed to be added to the Client Admin role.
-
Yes, you can configure different credentials for different jobs. I believe the credentials you enter initially are the defaults used when creating a new job.
-
You should be able to update all of your nodes using "Manage Nodes" within the NPM webpage. Select all Nodes and click "Edit Properties". Next, check "SNMP" and then edit the appropriate SNMP settings.

However long you have defined within the settings. From the Orion web interface go to Settings > Orion Polling Settings. There is an option there for "Events Retention". You can also define retention for syslog, traps, Detailed, Hourly & Daily statistics.
-
If you were monitoring any of the interfaces on that router, Orion would have displayed a node with a problem since the interfaces could no longer be polled. If you had any alerting for those particular interfaces, then that would have generated an alert. Were you only monitoring the router itself and not any of the…

Are you referring to NCM specifically or NPM? Either way, you can go into your SolarWinds settings > Manage Views > and create a new custom view. Then assign that view as your NCM or NPM homepage. You assign the NPM or NCM page on a per user basis.

Yep...mine doesn't dispaly anything useful either. It doesn't say "Sample Graph", but its just solid blue. I've got backups of all my device configs. I opened a ticket yesterday for this issue along with several other problems I'm having. Haven't heard anything back yet. I've already upgraded to SP2.

It appears that this affects any monitor, Node or Interface. I'm unable to suppress any alerts based on a nodes status of "Unmanaged". Anyone else having this issue?
-
I use the default of 10 minutes on most of our non-critical interfaces. Critical interfaces on core switches and routers I set to 2-5 minutes. I wish there was a way to make bulk interface statistic polling changes rather than having to change each individual interface. I have found that you can go into the Custom Property…

It's going to depend on what types of components you're monitoring. For example, a service, WMI statistics...etc. This is an example of what we use for our Exchange Server services: Trigger Alert when all the following apply: Application Name is equal to "MS Exchange 2003" Component Status is not equal to Up Trigger Alert…

Can you verify that LANDesk is sending the traps on port 161?
-
I believe there are a few ways to do it, but I check this registry key... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SolarWinds\Orion\Core

BUMP. We are having the exact same issue. We are pushing over a TB of data through our F5's and they show practically no traffic at all on the interfaces. Any ideas?
-
If I understand your question correctly, you are wanting to test HTTP availability. You would need something like Application Performance Monitor (APM) for this. If you have APM already, there are canned templates for this.
-
You could try removing & re-adding the hosts, making sure to set polling through vCenter rather than host. I had a quirk after upgrading to 10.1 where I had to re-add my hosts.

I frequently have this issue with both SFTP & SCP. Complete garbage. Obviously they are not willing to fix this based on the number of people having the issue. Anyone recommend another reliable SFTP/TFTP/SCP server?
-
Yep. Within the NCM application (on the server), go to File > Settings > Configs > Comparison Criteria. The most recent version of NCM, that I'm running, has several that are already configured. If you know how to use regular expression you can create all kinds of crazy exclusions, but I'm definitely not a Regular…

Citrix anyone???

Thats kind of a vague question. I think it really depends on what you're alerting on. Do you want to be notified when a device is down hard or unreachable, an interface is down, a custom poller is unavailable? It totally depends on what you are concerned about. By the way, by default, NPM logs an event if a device reboots
-
By the way, the warning is on the memory specifically. Disk, CPU, Net & Vol all have the green icon with the checkmark.

Its going to vary a bit depending on IOS, but I've been able to build a similar report. I included the Chassis ID & Chassis Serial Number fields. Have you tried both of those fields? Out of curiosity, what model and/or IOS isn't working?
-
Try this one: <Your Directory>\inetput\SolarWinds\Orion\MenuBar.ascx

I'm having the exact same problem. I created a template with monitors for AvgDiskQueueLength, AvgDiskReadQueueLength, AvgDiskWriteQueueLength & CurrentDiskQueueLength. When I run the test on these monitors they all pass. I am receieving availability data, but absolutely no statistical data. When I login to the box, I'm…

Bump...anyone else run into this?
-
I second all three of these points. I would like to see expanded customizable graphs. I'm guessing this will be part of the Orion-Profiler integration. Can anyone confirm?
-
I don't know if there is a limit, but I like to create email groups within AD and then use those for my alerts.
-
I've been working with the Policy Report alot lately, and I would say that this probably can't be done. Maybe someone else has an idea.

Anyone notice this?
