  • This could be as simple as just defining a rule with Alert on the rule below if: "String is NOT found" Then place the string value to be: storm-control broadcast level 10.00 storm-control multicast level 10.00 You'd then place in a policy and then create a report or add the rule to an existing report etc. It just depends…
  • You can report them through a support case as you would regularly. You can also email dau@solarwinds.com with your case number also! Please let me know if you need further assistance. ~Dez~

  • We have been doing "show me" sessions as well as UX sessions on Python. We wanted to know where the use cases are and where we play. However, interestingly enough people do not know where NCM plays at this time or could play. Some just wanted to have the option to use python and others didn't know why they would.
  • Are you using TFTP? If you check the NRAM and do not upload the complete conifg it will overwrite everything with just the config snippet. Config snippets is for on the fly type changes. But, for a global change I would suggest using a command script and use the scheduled job features to perform your roll out. However, I…
  • I see what your saying on that. The actual worth is in the time saving it provides as well as reporting. the Cirrus 1000 is around 9500 with maint. I would say if you have nothing in place now to manage the routers & switches it is well worth it. Also if you are worried about the cost apply a 500 and divide it up this away…
  • How many configuration devices do you have? You can always upgrade in the future to a higher level. Plus with Cirrus you can apply policies and create your own now. This also will most if not all of your network configuration devices. Try the eval it is on the website worth a look ~Dez
  • No, you do not have to restart services. You will only need to follow the readme included within the .zip copy the mibs.cfg to the location specified and you are done. Thank you
  • If you currently only have NCM in your environment then the interface utilization is only available within the Win 32 app. The inventory within is using a MIB poller to gather the information at the time you view. If you had NPM you would be able to have this reported to you. As NPM stores the data and is accessible from…
  • You should be able to create this in managed reports. Example of a custom table, this will show all interfaces but you can dive in and get more granualar. Also, these can always be exported to Excel to make it easier to work with etc.
  • Have you tried to re run the configuration wizard? This is what I did when my Syslog was not functioning correctly. Which DNS tool are you using that is not functioning correctly? Did this start when you began using the syslog? If so I would re run syslog Configuration Wizard then reboot. Then I would uninstall re install…
  • What version of Cirrus are you currently on? Also did you try the Extreme template available here: thwack.com/.../default.aspx If it does not work still for you could you turn on your session tracing in Cirrus: file > Settings > Session Trace Then try to login in and download a config from with in Cirrus. Then post the…
  • I would try to re run the configuration wizard on this. Make sure your IIS is install and started. Or stop the service ans restart it as well. This is where I would start. ~Dez
  • You do have the option to make up custom properties within Cirrus to better assist you. You do this by going to settings then custom properties; then choose and add what you would like. This is great especially for setting up areas as well as descriptions to help filter and complete jobs. Destiny Martin SolarWinds.net
  • So you can search within the config under block sections so you can start say at Vlan 200 to something after your last Vlan implementation. More on this is a step by step and RegEX guide here ~Dez
  • Thank you! ~Dez~

  • Highlight of my days was being in the room with all of you guys! Conversations with the customers is "priceless"! ~Dez~
  • We have had luck with menu driven if it will allow you to turn this off. Then it goes to CLI from here you should be able to use Cirrus. Some Nortel devices are menu driven but you can turn that off and then Cirrus works with it as planned. This is something I would look into to see if it can be done or ask your…
  • Something to consider if you have SAM is to setup a Cisco Port-Security template instead of a UnDP. You'll have better alert capabilities and easier implementation and awareness through the SNMP component. ~Dez~
  • Here is what I have done to resolve this: First go to the database manager and query the nodes table. Look for a node with multiple IP address listed. If you have a node ID with more them one IP in it then do the folowing: Steps to resolve once clarified on the issue: 1. Stop all Orion services 2. Using the database…
  • La licencia sería el dispositivo. Cada dirección mac e identidad, incluso agrupados se tendrían en cuenta y se muestran como un dispositivo. Espero que esto ayude.
  • I have found an Event MIB that Microsoft has that can help you in correlating your traps to windows events. This will also be in the MIB update on Monday from your customer portal. nmpTrapOID=MSSQLSERVER-MIB:software.13.1.8.83.101.99.117.114.105.116.121.0.534…
  • You only need to run this once. I recently upgraded SAM NTA and NPM then applied the Orion Platform hotfix when complete. If you have pollers you'll want to upgrade them and then apply the hotfix 5 to them as well. Thank you, ~Dez
