Here is what I have done. We have the Emerson (Liebert) UPSs. I have a UnDP polling 2 items : 1. upsSecondsOnBattery 2. upsEstimatedChargeRemaining If #1 > 0 then send an alert that the UPS went to battery. If #2 < 25% (battery) send an alert that the UPS battery is almost out of power. Once power is restored the I'll get…

I was able to get the services running with : Editing the hosts file in system32/drivers/etc and adding: 127.0.0.1 wpad 127.0.0.1 CRL.THAWTE.COM Not sure what this is all about but it worked. BB

That's already available if you own Cirrus. BB

Haley...I'm not able to download this from my account. Also....are you providing a seperate service and seperate web site install for those of us with multiple pollers? BB

It looks like I have to try and sell the purchase of a second SLX polling engine licence to management, but I'm not sure what this means for our Netflow license. Do I have to purchase yet another Netflow licence for the second polling engine? If that is so, will Orion work if I have SLX & Netflow on one box, but just SLX…

All I can think of is the interface settings for speed are not correct in Orion. I'd verify those values match what you really have. I've seen my own issue where Orion things the speed is one thing but it's really another. BB

I too notice a general "slowness" to the site. It's ok for now but we'll have to monitor as we add nodes, etc. I emailed SW about the catalyst port issue. I've been complaining for sometime now and just sent them another email about it. It is a big pain and doesn't seem to hard to implement. Still waiting to hear about the…

I upgraded to V7 today...so far so good. My thoughts : Good - New Map Maker tool is sweet and it appears they have mad alot of development in this tool. Running reports off the website is nice, still like to be able to create reports without having to log into the server. Account Manager/Limitations is nice to have. Device…

My question is.. can i reuse or redistribuite the SL2000 to other servers or i need to purchase more licenses? o simply i can install the product and use the same database but other…

Josh, Can you give us a synposis of the management packs and what each one will do for Orion? Thanks. BB

NPM could be using a different OID for some reason. You could always create a custom mib poller in Orion to poll that particular MIB to see if it works. I would also suggest you emailing support for help too. BB

Will 10.4RC work with EOC 1.3?

Not sure why you would not want to upgrade to the new version since you are paying for it. Real-time Interface Monitor is a very cool tool they added. Biggest thing for me is that these integrate into the Orion product. BB

The plan is to integrate the 2 platforms down the road...no one outside of SW knows the time frame for that. BB

If you email Sales they will get you a quote. I worked with support and got the issue resolved. It's about $500 a license.

I could not wait. I upgraded my 4 remote pollers and NPM server to 8.0 and I've been keeping up with the patches. I needed custom mib support so that's why I upgraded. I'm not sure what the stability issues you are seeing but my system is running well. The advance alerting is a pain because it doesn't support alot of…

I can do it for the right price! ;-) BB

I have 4 pollers and still use 1 DB. The nice thing is by using that 1 DB then you can have 1 web site with all the data from your pollers. Depending on your elements you need to have a capable DB server to handle things. We went from 4GB RAM to 12GB RAM and it has plenty of HD space. Fell free to PM me or email me with…
