APM is highly flexible for any size environment. Click here to see the requirements. I would also recommend looking at the Admin guide intro so you can get better acquainted with APM. That can be found here.

If I'm not mistaken, you can go here: Start > SolarWinds Orion > Grouping and Access Control > Custom Property Editor. I can easily be mistaken though.

I think you're reading too much into that. Basically, the Unknown state occurs because you have no player to play transactions on because you just uninstalled the player. Upgrading the player with the same settings as before will allow the transactions to be played normally again.

First, I would check with the manufacturer and see if this product has a MIB (Management Information Base). If so, then we can move on from there. From what I understand, some larger appliances may have a USB port to allow access for such things.
